    I think music + pre-rendered cutscenes are the bulk in many of those Playstation Games.

    It's still really impressive though to see that Donkey Kong 64 was almost 100x smaller than the average PC game at the time.

    ...Reminds me of Sonic CD for the Sega CD. The main game size is probably not even no more than 1-2MB big. Everything else though is what takes up the space to make the game 300MB or so.

      IIRC DK64 came with that RAM expansion pack, but only because it was the only way to prevent a game-breaking glitch

          Screenshots don't show differences in frame rates, animation smoothness, or camera panning smoothness and quickness. The Playstation had a lot of tricks it could use to make individual frames look incredible, but trust me when I say the N64 had a maniacally snappy 3d rendering engine for its time and price. The N64's strength was real time 3d animation. The Playstation's strength was having space for amazing textures and pre-rendered BGs and videos.
