    MGS3 Stolen From E3!

According to Games Radar "LA Convention Centre security staff were left flat-footed and red-faced yesterday as two unknown perps had it away with a copy of the MGS3: Snake Eater demo code. According to eyewitness reports they achieved this by leaning heavily on the unit before simply ejecting the disc."

One of the perps was heard shouting "Run Steve! RUN!" in what witnesses describe as a "German accent".

that isnt funny. that is why games like HL2 are delayed, and it hurts an industry, unlike the music industry, which is trying to bring you the best quality in entertainment

Relax. They didnt get the source code or anything, the demo cd only had one level.

This really shouldnt delay MGS3 at all, or hurt them. At the most, he might sell it to the highest bidder on EBay, or make a few copies for him and his friends. I dont think it would even go far in P2P networks.

      I found it funny because

      A) It takes balls to pull that off.
      B) No one got hurt in the incident.
      C) Use your imagination. Guy sneaks up to machine in cardboard box and sits still. Security guard gives it a "?" but decides to think nothing of it. Suddenly, BAM! A german guy in stealth camoflauge bursts out, grabs the CD, and runs like hell! His spotter is screaming through his walkie talkie, "RUN, STEVE! RUUUUNNNNNNN!" as Steve zooms through a group of booth babes with panic-stricken face.
      D) Now picture Penny Arcade doing a comic on it.

it isnt funny. it means next year some developers might not want to share new games out of fears of it being stolen, or worse yet, heightened security to play the games. Since you didnt go, i guess you don't care, but I did, and having them watch over you whiel yo utry to enjoy it isn't any fun at all.

I have to go with Spook on this one. I'd be playing HL2 by now if some moron hadn't stolen the source code and distributed it throughout the internet. Beyond that, MGS3 wasn't presented at E3, which means it will get a lot less publicity and probably do more poorly in sales. Finally, you just know that some security guard along with the person over at Konami responsible for security at E3 are both fired now. That guy is an asshole, seriously. He's the anti-gamer.

The HL2 incident is one thing.

            This is different.

Anyways, I dont wanna argue about it, but...I highly doubt MGS3 will sell poorly. Remember Zone Of Enders? Zillions of people bought it just for the MGS2 demo that came with it.

HL2 was stolen from the devlopers computers via a virus. This is a little different.

That's stupid. Why would someone steal a one level demo? I want MGS3 to come out just as much (ok, probably a hell of a lot more) then the next guy but do people really have to be so greedy as to steal the demo for it? God, there are some real jerks out there. If this incident affects the game sales or release in anyway....run Steve, run.
