Re: TWG XLVI: For the King!

The thieves are on nobody's side. meaning this is really a 16 person TWG with 3 wolves and 2 extra targets (which will go away after a while). Even so, with the all the blues and no MW, the wolves must have extra items and knowledge about those items to make it more balanced.

After looking through, it seems Talisman says he did not have an item. If he had recieved an item, he probably would have known.

Talisman as a wolf seems a little more likely now.
YOU JUST WON THE GAME! CONGRATULATIONS!

Uhh, guys, I just had a thought.

Theifs start with lucky charms, lucky charms keep you from being killed, so talisman = theif?

        no.

I do not have a lucky charm. furthermore, if I did, that wouldn't make me a thief since as the game desc says, there are several in play (not just the ones the thieves start with).

that would be incredibly retarded to try

first off, if the guard didn't guard him, obviously he wouldn't come out, right? second, if they were going to try to do anything to one of their own wolves in hope that they get guarded, they would literally have to hope that the guardian is a.) active and b.) picks their guy, which is a 1/17 shot. and if the guardian guards someone else, they just killed their own wolf.

that doesn't mean you're not a thief just because other ones are in play.

it really doesn't matter, because we don't have to kill thieves.

Re: TWG XLVI: For the King!

I think it's perfectly reasonable to think the guardian picked talisman. One of two things could have happened:

                      - The guardian picked talisman before flaw came out (hardly a bad choice) and simply didn't read the thread again before the day started.
                      - The guardian picked talisman because they the wolves assumed flaw to be forbidden territory and went with someone else. How often is a public figure attacked on their first night of being a public figure with a guardian in the game? Off the top of my head, I can think of maybe one time in our 45-game history, and I can't remember which game it was. talisman becomes the obvious wolf choice after that (seriously, look at this game's player list, there's like no one else worth attacking), so one clever guardian selection later and we have ourselves a save.
I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.

I'm leaning towards the first option there or someone deciding to use a lucky charm on me (if lucky charms are active) although why someone would instead of keeping it I have no idea.

I was thinking tha the lucky charm isn't an item that you can literally use (thus giving yu the ability to target someone with it). Just from the context of what the charm does, I figured the player was just automatically saved from a kill if they had it at the time; a reactive item of sorts.

I'll assume this isn't illegal since it's public knowledge and information given to us by the host.

Possessing this item will allow you to successfully avoid being killed once. Once used the LUCKY CHARM, becomes ineffective but is still passed as normal.

NOTE - if a bodyguard is protecting you, and you hold a lucky charm, the charm's power will still fade if you are attacked, even though the attack would have failed anyway!

I figured it was a simple 1 + 1 = 2, though I might be wrong. This is the only reason I figured Talisman was a thief or one of the other few players with a lucky charm.

Alright, it's pretty much fact lucky charms are one time use items. Any more than this and the game would have invincible people.

So with that being said, I don't think it's THAT much of a stretch to consider what X3ro is saying. If one of the wolves started with a lucky charm, it wouldn't be that hard to imagine them setting up a fake guarding on one of their own to gain human trust.

Also, doing so would give a false sense of safety to whoever they decide to pass the lucky charm to the next night (as you have no idea if an item is already used up when you receive it.)

I believe this is what X3ro was attempting to say.

That aside, Either Talis did get guarded before Flaw came out, which seems pretty dumb considering (as far as I know, you're able to change your pick right up until either the last night action is in, or night is over). If you are able to do so, the guard was either inactive and didn't or hasn't returned to the thread yet, or is a complete dumbass and didn't switch over to the seer.

But if this isn't the case, I believe Talis was holding either a lucky charm, or something to the extent of an item that saves you from a wolfing or whatever. I find it incredibly hard to believe that anyone who had an item that would protect someone or yourself from harm at night WOULDN'T keep it for themselves, especially on night one.

Unless the item HAD to be used on someone other than yourself, it would seem that there's either someone who really likes Talis or really doesn't care to be in the game, or Talis had an item... or Talis was guarded.

So I guess this post solved no real mysteries. I just felt like sharing some ideas.

for what it's worth, it has come to my attention that I was, indeed, guarded last night.

Just a quick public service announcment.

DO NOT talk to Paintballa18 about your items or etc untll Flaw and myself have confirmed he has any legitimate info he claims to have.

Furthermore, If you have talked to him between now and 9:00 PM last night about items (when he claimed to have info on several different people's items) tell flaw.

Pnt says he's waiting for flaw to be confirmed as the seer, but we (flaw and myself) both think he's full of BS. Untill faw says "ok, got the list pnt says he has" refrain from telling him about any items.
