As happened the previous night, the king entered the Guards' hall of the castle to oversee the execution. It was decided by well over a 50%+ vote, and it would be done by a sword to the neck.

"So you believe that FictionJunction is a traitor?" the King asked the crowd.

"I was told that he was caught sneaking around at night, and that we is positively a traitor, your majesty," replied talisman.

"Very well, off with his head," the King concluded.

The ceremony went as the previous night, a few last words, a bit of complaining and foul language, and it ended with a head rolling to the floor. It went just as the previous night, except for one thing. As the sword was less than an inch away from his neck, about to be sliced, FictionJunction pulled out a revolver and shot DarkManticoreX2 in the face. Of course, this was countered by his head coming off faster than it would have, but nothing could have been done to save DarkManticoreX2.

After the initial shock was over, the king happened to glance at the body of DarkManticoreX2, and was shocked at what he saw.

"THAT RING. THAT RING BELONGED TO MY WIFE!" exclaimed the king. "I demand an emergency check on this man's whereabouts on the day that she was shot. I want to know where he was, what he was doing, if he's left in the last month, where he sleeps, what size underwear he wears, EVERYTHING."

At that, the order was carried out, and everyone went to sleep, hoping they wouldn't be the next to go.
