Re: TWG XXVIII: Card Sharks (or Wolves, rather)

As host, it is not your call as to the relevance of any voting pattern guide or anything else... just for you to try and accomidate the wishes of the players in their requests when possible, no matter how inane you may think them.

PS - This weekend.... gangbang on Afro? A little "haha you're grounded" pick-me-up? Anyone else down?

Re: TWG XXVIII: Card Sharks (or Wolves, rather)

Tass, I was just saying the same thing to talis an hour or so ago. Or rather, similar reasons as to why Omega is a more promising wolf than has been yet discussed.

      [13:44] insanelikeafish: there a chat/
      [13:44] insanelikeafish: ?
      [13:44] stressreliefball: dunno
      [13:44] insanelikeafish: aight
      [13:44] insanelikeafish: sup?
[13:44] stressreliefball: uh one sec... in boggle game
[13:46] insanelikeafish: k, let me read your monster post
[13:46] stressreliefball: aight done with game
[13:47] stressreliefball: my post has nothing really new in it
[13:47] stressreliefball: just a big summary
[13:48] insanelikeafish: well i disagree with you about omega
[13:48] insanelikeafish: if you recall manhunt
[13:48] insanelikeafish: we both said omega would have to lay low
[13:49] insanelikeafish: in order to be a good wolf
[13:49] insanelikeafish: i would think he learned from that
      [13:49] stressreliefball: maybe
[13:49] insanelikeafish: plus, between blah and omega, i think blah would have been more likely to send a kill in than omega
[13:49] stressreliefball: right, but was blah on?
[13:50] stressreliefball: I think he said he was at some poker thing for most of the weekend (ironic)
      [13:50] insanelikeafish: 03-17-2006, 12:29 AM - 03-18-2006, 10:55 AM
      [13:50] insanelikeafish: that's night 1
[13:51] insanelikeafish: blah's last activity before that was 03-17-2006, 02:09 AM
      [13:51] stressreliefball: ok
[13:51] insanelikeafish: so he could have sent it in
      [13:51] stressreliefball: hmm ok
      [13:52] insanelikeafish: i mean
[13:52] insanelikeafish: i'm not trying to defend the guy
[13:52] insanelikeafish: but I also want to look at all the options
      [13:52] stressreliefball: yes
[13:52] stressreliefball: if blah is a wolf
[13:52] stressreliefball: he contacts his partners fairly quickly
      [13:52] insanelikeafish: yes
[13:53] insanelikeafish: which fits with his timestamps
[13:53] stressreliefball: and doesn't fit with there not being a kill
[13:53] insanelikeafish: omega on the other hand
      [13:53] insanelikeafish: was 3/18 - 09:49 PM
      [13:54] stressreliefball: where is omega?
[13:54] insanelikeafish: which means he had almost all day
[13:54] insanelikeafish: no idea, he's been on the forums
      [13:54] stressreliefball: huh
[13:54] stressreliefball: he hasn't been online a lot
      [13:54] stressreliefball: aim wise
      [13:54] insanelikeafish: i haven't seen him once
      [13:54] insanelikeafish: on aim
      [13:54] stressreliefball: neither have I
[13:55] insanelikeafish: anyway, i can see Omega talking to either 1 wolf partner or sending a PM to a wolf partner for an opinion
      [13:55] insanelikeafish: duriong that day
[13:55] insanelikeafish: and saying something to the effect of "we'll let's get x's opinion, then send it in"
      [13:55] insanelikeafish: or something
      [13:55] stressreliefball: right
      [13:55] insanelikeafish: x being afro
[13:56] stressreliefball: the wolves had to be ignorant to the deadline
[13:56] stressreliefball: they might have even thought that since wilkin didn't mention the deadline, there wasn't going to be one
      [13:56] insanelikeafish: possible
[13:57] insanelikeafish: when i boil it down
      [13:57] insanelikeafish: i say afro with psycho/iggy and blah/omega
[13:57] insanelikeafish: there really aren't that many other options
      [13:57] insanelikeafish: if it
[13:57] insanelikeafish: if it's iggy and omega
      [13:57] insanelikeafish: er
      [13:57] insanelikeafish: iggy and blah
[13:57] insanelikeafish: that would make sense
[13:57] insanelikeafish: because iggy woudl have sent it in, as well as blah
[13:58] insanelikeafish: but if blah saw it right away, PMed afro and iggy
[13:58] insanelikeafish: and said "wait till i get back to send something in"
[13:58] insanelikeafish: taking the dominant role
      [13:58] stressreliefball: could have happened
[13:58] stressreliefball: lot of speculation though
[13:58] insanelikeafish: whereas psycho and omega probably would have wanted to talk to afro
[13:58] insanelikeafish: both being not very good at wolves
[13:58] insanelikeafish: or rather, being less confident in the wolf role
[13:59] stressreliefball: why does it have to be iggy/blah psycho/omega and not just any combinatino of the four?
      [14:00] insanelikeafish: oh i guess that's true
[14:00] insanelikeafish: i had it in my head that it was two vets, but that's not for certain
      [14:00] insanelikeafish: yeah, alright
[14:00] stressreliefball: yeah nforcer's been pushing that scenario pretty hard
[14:00] insanelikeafish: we sort of stumbled upon it together early on the first day in the chat
[14:01] insanelikeafish: it's what i've been working off of
[14:01] insanelikeafish: although the psycho, iggy, afro would make sense as well
[14:01] stressreliefball: well either way it's either two inactives one active
[14:01] stressreliefball: or two meek actives one strong inactive
      [14:01] insanelikeafish: yeah

If you're just looking for a post from him at all, he has a post at the top of this page.

I will have a vote before 10 if one is necessary, I'm just letting you know I'm still alive over here.

              Uhhh.

              Hi guys.

Yeah. Been doing a lot of not-posting. I don't have much to say, because...Well...I don't know what to say. I've just wrapped up reading everyone's posts, and I don't know how to defend myself, because alot of it is true. You see, last weekend I was in California hanging out with my grandparents and checking out UCLA. And when I wasn't with my grandparents, I was in an airport. However, at both my grandparent's house and at the airports I had access to the forums and was on them. However however (double however), I had not been paying much attention to the game. The most I've done game-wise is trying to look for an avatar of the guy I'm supposed to be. So really, I'm guilty as charged on inactivity. I've been vacationing and homeworking. The other reason I haven't spoken up is because I have nothing to contribute. I'm not suspicious of anyone because I haven't been active and really never talk about TWG on AIM. I really only recall doing a TWG chat on the last day of Manhunt, separately with each of the 2 humans, which was hardly much because all I had to do was agree with what they said about the other human being the wolf. I dunno why I never bring it up in AIM.

So yeah. I'm inactive, I have nothing to contribute, and all you have is my word that I'm not a wolf. I think I would have sent a kill in. But then, waiting for the other wolves also sounds like me. I dunno.

                  lol, I was gonna...

At first, I was just going to come here and vote afro, but I don't want to insta. He does fit the profile that has been going around for the wolves very well, but then there is the part about a newer player where most everyone jumps at me being the newest player. Sure, I didn't have the best opening convo into TWG, but I was suprised by how much more stuff happens compared to jTWG. I was expecting a big jump, but nothing this big. Iggy is also newer and this will hold as a placement for afro.

As of now, i'm late for work. I'll post more later.

                          "Hoyt Corkins' hand is folded."

The director's voice was heard as Hoyt once again walked away from the table. Due to inactivity and just plain bad luck, the blinds had gotten to his stack while he was throwing away the mediocre hands given to him. Finally calmed down again, he sat back down.

                          King-Queen offsuit.

If there was a better time, he hadn't seen it yet.

                          "All in."

Some of the players' eyes opened when they noticed ol' Hoyt was finally pushing . To his own dismay, however, folding didn't seem to cross anyone's mind.

"All in, all in, all in," Hellmuth shot, "Why can't you just play a hand for once?"

Hoyt's face remained still as others called, until the flop finally came:

Deuce-Six-Five, rainbow. Nothing to worry about, Hoyt, thought. A King-high hand had plenty of strength on a low flop. The checking around the table only fortified his confidence in his hand. The button checked, and the dealer laid down the turn:

King. Inside, Hoyt did a little dance. Top pair with second-best kicker. He could imagine the announcers praising him for such a move when the game finally hit television. And with so many callers, he was in a prime position to take control of the table pretty soon. There was some betting around the table, along with some folds. None of it phased Hoyt, though. The river came.

Ace. That little dance ended with a fall into a coffin. Behind his sunglasses, Hoyt's eyes cringed a little. Such a simple card, yet bearing so much power. He still had a chance, though. as long as no one had an ace, he still had the upper hand. The betting ended, and the dealer called for the hands.

Hellmuth showed a King-Jack. A subtle sigh left Hoyt's chest.

                          Ivey showed pocket Queens.

Hoyt showed his King-Queen, sparking a complaint from Hellmuth. All he needed to do was dodge one hand, and he would be back in the game.

Men "The Master" showed his hand. Ace-six suited. Hoyt's heart sank. Two pair. Not another king, but an ace. The one card that he didn't want to see, laying in front of him. The chips were pushed to Men, and Hoyt stood up.

"Hoyt Corkins finishes in sixteenth place."

Through quiet applause from the other players, Hoyt bowed his head to the others and walked out of the casino silently.

Ace-eight suited. Not a bad hand, the fish thought. He called the big blind.

King-deuce offsuit was dealt to the shark. Finally, it was time. He called.

The flop came: King-five-deuce. Two diamonds on the board, the fish thought as he rechecked his own hand, finding two more.

The players checked around the table, until it finally got to the shark.

                            "All in."

All the other players folded to the fish. He sat there, staring at his hand. The nut flush draw. He had about the same chips as his bettor, a little less, so his win would basically put him one place further toward victory, and at a huge chip advantage. TIME was finally called on him after about a minute of his silent debate. Continually checking his hole cards again and again, he came to a conclusion.

                            "Call."

All of the other players folded, and it was now heads up. The dealer called for the hands. The fish didn't look immediately, but some small reactions from the others put him at a little ease.

He saw his opponent's two pair, and cringed slightly. He had only about a thirty-five percent chance of survival, and wasn't too fond of it. The turn came:

Six. Of diamonds. The fish had hit his nut flush, and he was all but at the final table by now. Allowing a smile to break onto his stern face, he let out a sigh of massive relief. However, the victory was not comfirmed.

"He needs a King or a deuce." One of the others pointed out, and with this news, the fish's smile suddenly turned into a grimace. Reluctantly, he kept his eyes wide open as the dealer turned over the river.

Deuce. The shark had managed to crack his nut flush with a full house on the river. What were the chances?

The shark smiled inconspicuously. Such a draw was only eleven percent to happen. Not this hand, though. This hand, everything was a hundred percent, straight down to the look on the fish's face.

In more disbelief than he could have ever imagined, the fish stood up, nodded to the other players, and headed for the door.

"Phil Ivey has finished in fifteenth place."

The shark suppressed his grin to look at the bigger picture.

                            "There's still next hand."

stressreliefball (11:50:36 AM): who would you kill tonight
                              insanelikeafish (11:50:46 AM): Tass
                              insanelikeafish (11:50:50 AM): although
insanelikeafish (11:50:57 AM): i might go for me or you
insanelikeafish (11:51:06 AM): the tripple t team
                              stressreliefball (11:51:17 AM): heh
stressreliefball (11:51:26 AM): except your t is your name
insanelikeafish (11:51:27 AM): (t for trevor, not fish haha)
stressreliefball (11:51:43 AM): well those three would be the most logical
insanelikeafish (11:51:52 AM): how about you?
stressreliefball (11:52:02 AM): tass is the obvious choice I think
insanelikeafish (11:52:03 AM): i mean, Tass is just too confirmed as a human
insanelikeafish (11:52:06 AM): he IMed me going
                              stressreliefball (11:52:06 AM): right
stressreliefball (11:52:08 AM): plus he's tass
insanelikeafish (11:52:11 AM): "please don't kill me"
insanelikeafish (11:52:34 AM): and i'm like "sorry tass, but you're really the best choice for a wolf kill, i don't think anyone's going to do you any mercy haha"
                              stressreliefball (11:52:48 AM): yeah
stressreliefball (11:53:06 AM): funny if they forgot to send in a kill tonight too
insanelikeafish (11:53:09 AM): then we changed everyone's avs to poker players
insanelikeafish (11:53:13 AM): haha i know
stressreliefball (11:53:15 AM): yeah I noticed that
insanelikeafish (11:53:15 AM): it woudl rule
stressreliefball (11:53:29 AM): I posted and was like... wtf... where's my penguin?
                              insanelikeafish (11:54:07 AM): 11:04:57 PM tasselfoot: ps - if you're a wolf... please don't kill me, m'kay?
11:05:12 PM tasselfoot: not that i think you're a wolf
                              11:05:14 PM insanelikeafish: hahahaha
11:05:31 PM insanelikeafish: i told chicken to change his av to his poker player too
11:05:32 PM insanelikeafish: i love it
                              11:05:34 PM insanelikeafish: everyone did
11:05:45 PM tasselfoot: have all 16 done it?
                              11:05:47 PM tasselfoot: afro didn't....
11:05:52 PM tasselfoot: but i guess he doesn't count anyway
                              11:06:10 PM insanelikeafish: yeah haha
11:06:22 PM insanelikeafish: ps you're one of the best kills that i can see
11:06:33 PM insanelikeafish: being that almost 100% confirmed human
insanelikeafish (11:54:46 AM): also you'll note, that psycho didn't vote afro, he voted iggy
insanelikeafish (11:54:51 AM): i actually expected him not to post
stressreliefball (11:54:53 AM): I did note that
insanelikeafish (11:55:08 AM): i think tass's post messed it up
stressreliefball (11:55:12 AM): I don't know what to make of it
stressreliefball (11:55:25 AM): I don't think that if the two were wolves together
insanelikeafish (11:55:28 AM): i wouldn't be surprised if he was early distance voting
stressreliefball (11:55:30 AM): they would be that retarded
stressreliefball (11:55:44 AM): yeah but they both voted each other
                              insanelikeafish (11:55:47 AM): oh?
stressreliefball (11:55:49 AM): I mean how obvious is that
insanelikeafish (11:55:56 AM): i didn't remember iggy voting psycho
                              insanelikeafish (11:56:00 AM): okay yeah
stressreliefball (11:56:11 AM): I mean... I can't see them being that blatant
stressreliefball (11:56:18 AM): maybe I'm overestimating them... dunno
stressreliefball (11:56:30 AM): iggy for sure seems smarter than that
insanelikeafish (11:56:34 AM): yeah, he is
insanelikeafish (11:56:39 AM): i dunno about psycho
insanelikeafish (11:56:44 AM): if psyhco is a wolf
insanelikeafish (11:56:49 AM): and playing teh same style as last game
insanelikeafish (11:57:12 AM): he'll pretend to be really active and try to get everyone to post early on in the day, then completely drop off and use an excuse later to justify a shifty vote
stressreliefball (11:57:41 AM): well my thinking is that they both can't be wolves together
stressreliefball (11:57:43 AM): or if they are
stressreliefball (11:57:50 AM): they made the worst voting decisions ever
insanelikeafish (11:58:09 AM): or the best, if you are already eliminating them together as an option ; )
                              insanelikeafish (11:58:11 AM): haha
insanelikeafish (11:58:13 AM): yeah, i agree
                              stressreliefball (11:58:17 AM): also
insanelikeafish (11:58:20 AM): i didn't know iggy voted psycho
stressreliefball (11:58:25 AM): a wolf may have voted for afro?
                              insanelikeafish (11:58:30 AM): probably
stressreliefball (11:58:43 AM): there were a couple abstainers too
                              stressreliefball (11:58:49 AM): like myself
insanelikeafish (11:58:54 AM): well chicken and you only did because of insta
                              stressreliefball (11:58:59 AM): right
stressreliefball (11:59:07 AM): which I don't know why ap made us wait
stressreliefball (11:59:15 AM): not like the guardian can't contact him during the night
insanelikeafish (11:59:27 AM): he probably wanted a sure protection from the wolves
                              stressreliefball (11:59:32 AM): meh
stressreliefball (11:59:36 AM): he was probably faking
insanelikeafish (11:59:38 AM): or wanted to make the wolves think he didn't have protection
                              insanelikeafish (11:59:39 AM): yeah
stressreliefball (11:59:43 AM): I'm sure the guardian already came to him
stressreliefball (11:59:54 AM): hell, I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't the seer
stressreliefball (12:00:02 PM): and instead was who the seer seered
insanelikeafish (12:00:13 PM): oh, if the seer is like a jtwger
insanelikeafish (12:00:17 PM): that would make sense
stressreliefball (12:00:23 PM): would be dangerous though
stressreliefball (12:00:33 PM): I hope he is the seer, just so at least one blue is protected
                              insanelikeafish (12:00:37 PM): yeah
stressreliefball (12:00:43 PM): or maybe... guardian guards real seer and leaves ap unguarded
stressreliefball (12:00:56 PM): that would be some deft play
insanelikeafish (12:01:14 PM): haha but why would ap draw attention to himself being unguarded?
insanelikeafish (12:01:22 PM): double reverse psyc?
stressreliefball (12:01:25 PM): because the alliance leader doesn't get attacked
stressreliefball (12:01:28 PM): yeah, something like that
                              insanelikeafish (12:01:35 PM): haha
stressreliefball (12:01:35 PM): they can't risk wolfing him
insanelikeafish (12:01:56 PM): well if that's the case
stressreliefball (12:01:59 PM): heh check that... if I were a wolf
insanelikeafish (12:02:00 PM): i hope the real seer isn't Tass
stressreliefball (12:02:06 PM): I'd totally wolf ap
                              insanelikeafish (12:02:26 PM): haha
                              insanelikeafish (12:02:34 PM): I don't think i would
insanelikeafish (12:02:54 PM): missing one kill, it's not worth it to have a big chance of missing another one
stressreliefball (12:03:01 PM): yeah that's true
stressreliefball (12:03:12 PM): I mean I doubt I would do it either
insanelikeafish (12:03:13 PM): i mean there's a huge chance that he is guarded
stressreliefball (12:03:21 PM): but it would be fun
                              insanelikeafish (12:03:23 PM): yeah
insanelikeafish (12:03:33 PM): almost as fun as faking your ffr name

(and the convo went from there into talking about the past)
