Re: TWG CLXXIX: The Third FE Mystery Game Game Thread
I got here, posted I was busy, read the thread as much as I could, made like five posts before going to the doctor, made a post here or there from my phone while I was getting back home, and you're distraught that I haven't treated everyone the same... This is not really believable, to me. I want the opinions of others.
Also, please directly quote what made you say I had done the same thing as TokComment

Re: TWG CLXXIX: The Third FE Mystery Game Game Thread
This is how I see it.
If everyone votes for a specific girl, then the entire player pool, town and wolves, advances to the tiebreaker. We don't really know anything about the tiebreaker, other than the assumption that it's not bastard. So most likely the odds it resolves in favor of a town or mafia player mirror the actual player ratio.
If everyone votes anonymously, RNG or otherwise, the result statistically should be the same. Since the result is still fundamentally random (particularly with RNG), the odds should work out similarly. However, this is potentially more volatile because it's uncontrolled--true anonymous RNG should have the same "odds" as the player ratio, but we've already had people say they won't vote for ugly waifus or whatever, and as soon as anonymized randomness is compromised, then there's an incentive to try to game the system.
If people publicly reveal votes, but don't make an effort beforehand to synchronize them, that would allow the wolves to essentially circumvent the private chat restriction. Any information gleaned from that probably isn't worth the risk of a wolf getting an item.
The public platform for an event like this is actually a weakness (since done truly anonymously, it should theoretically favor the town:wolf ratio without any other complications), unless we use that public aspect for the purpose of organization and cooperation. But coordinating among this many people, not all of whom may be interested in the implications of the minigame, can be difficult. We know from the event description that we can change votes between rounds, but any errant voters will be eliminated along the way, so it would be best, if possible, to mass-sync now.
Basically, I don't agree that RNG is inherently more vulnerable if people actually commit to it. But that's already been affected by discussions on the topic, so a coordinated group vote, to the extent it's possible, is preferable.Comment

Re: TWG CLXXIX: The Third FE Mystery Game Game Thread
Precarious that's all fair, but the wolves don't follow through even if they commit to something, and it's somewhere between possible and expected that they manage to coordinate. If everything is even, result(RNG)==result(stacking), and there are no vulnerabilities. But stacking is never variable, and any little thing going different ("I'm voting for the girl who's the blankiest!!!"), coordination, whatever, makes RNG worseComment
