Re: TWG CXXXVI - An Extended Sonic Universe Fanfic by Ronnie Darkshadow POSTGAME
Ever since forum mafia was a thing, inactivity has been one of the biggest problems with the game. I'm not really sure how to fix it. Most measures where either posting requirements or voting requirements are used are somewhat effective, but usually make people meet the bare minimum if they do not intend to play the game. At the very least, I think the ban system on FFR does not work very well at all and if people intend to keep it around I think it needs to be changed significantly.
Short thoughts but to readdress the reason I'm quoting this, inactivity is a problem basically everywhere. Even in the Champions games (although less so this year than last) there were several replacements, including some games with multiple ones, and this is supposedly the grouping of the best TWG players across the internet.
I dunno what to do other than to ask people to really consider whether or not they can guarantee that they will be invested in a game regardless of what alignment they role etc etc. I feel like a lot of people don't take the commitment to signing up for a game as strongly as they should, and I feel like most of the players who sign up for games only to go inactive are the same people over and over.
I think this post has no longer become productive. I have no real ideas as to how inactivity could seriously be addressed and I feel like the measures taken by FFRTWG to curb inactivity do not work at present.
