Re: TWG CXVII: General Hospital reroll
I learned from the best, Fiction.
And anyone who finds my behavior odd should know the new philosophy I'm bringing to the table.
A lot of players might find it difficult to start pro-town discussion on a Day 0/1 (essentially the same; an initial nightkill doesn't make too much difference in the current meta.)
What direction will the game take after RVS? What if there is no quick wagon? What exactly will escalate the proceedings to "serious" gameplay? Having to find answers to all these questions can be tough to deal with. Also, people rarely have any kind of agenda when they cast their first vote, as any alignment, which is why cases aren't founded from random votes.
People will tell you to just go with the flow and react to whatever gets popularity, or add random questions into the mix, or lynch the least valuable player...but none of these things necessarily will get you what you want.
So, what is the key to a successful opening Day? Simple.
A successful first Day gets people to take clear positions.
You need to be bold, be polarizing, throw in spontaneous things to see how people react. Once a schism becomes clear and the pro/anti/third option factions form around the issues of the day, then you have the tools to put pressure on people on any side of the coin, try to get people on your side, and begin your theorizing and evidence-gathering for the inevitable blame-game the next day.
This is why I'm not going to play in a way that you're used to. Whether you can deal with it or not, well, that's your choice to make, isn't it?~ OFFICIALLY RETIRED FROM FFR THE GAME AND FFR TWG ~
