If you've ever played the board game Risk you might be aware that there's a variant included with the game called Secret Mission Risk. In Secret Mission Risk everyone is given a card detailing their individual conditions for victory. The first one to complete their secret mission wins.
I was thinking about this at work today and I thought "Hey, why not Secret Mission TWG?" The rules are VERY different from Secret Mission Risk so read on.
Secret Mission TWG
1 seer, 1 psychic, ? wolves, ? players
It works like this. Basically our peaceful little village gets a werewolf infestation, as usual. However in this village, there are deep-seated jealousies and conflicts among the townspeople, most of whom are very wicked. Therefore, when the werewolves come, people are thinking "Hey, I can use this to my advantage - now I have a good excuse to kill this guy I've hated forever!"
In every human's PM they are given the names of 2 players chosen at random: their Mark and their Ward.
Your Mark is the particular player you want to see dead by the end of the game. This person can be wolf, or human.
Your Ward is the person you're trying to protect. You want this person to stay alive the whole game. This person can be wolf, or human, as well. This way no one has any idea who's human and who's not from their ward picks.
Your Ward will never have you for a Mark.
Terminology: If you are my ward, I am your Protector. If you are my mark, I am your Assassin.
If you're a wolf, your Mark and Ward will both always be human. It is not wise for wolves to tell each other their Marks and Wards, as they may be mutually exclusive. (For example, Wolf A might have Human X as his Ward and Wolf B might have him as his Mark.)
MURDER TEAMS. This is how you get your killings done without having to get other people to lynch them. Basically, every night you can either join a Murder Team or a Defense Team. Murder Teams are arranged around their target, Defense Teams are arranged around the person they're trying to protect.
You PM the host every night with the person you want to murder, or protect.
"I choose to murder Blah tonight" puts you on a murder team with everyone else who wishes to do so.
"I choose to defend Blah tonight" puts you on a defense team with everyone else who wishes to do so.
Yes, you can choose to defend yourself at night!
It's quite simple. If the murder team is larger than the defense team centered around the target, the target is killed. If the murder team is smaller, the target is protected and the names of everyone on the murder team are revealed.
Both wolves and humans can join murder teams and defense teams.
Even if you're a member of a 10-man defense team, if the defense team is not centered around you, then you can be killed by 1 person.
If you choose to defend yourself, it takes more than 1 person to kill you, obviously.
WOLF KILLS. Wolves still get their kill every night. This is independent from murder teams, and no defense team can protect against a wolf kill. (Wolves are strong!)
In the morning, the group learns who's dead. Vote to lynch for whatever reasons necessary.
Game ends the normal way, with normal TWG win/loss conditions.
Scoring system:
+3: You are on the winning team.
+4: You survive until the end of the game.
+2: Your Mark died.
+1: You had a hand in your Mark's death (you were part of the murder team, or you voted to lynch them.)
+1: You killed your Assassin.
+2: Your Ward survived the game.
+3: You murdered or lynched your own Ward and they turned out to be a wolf.
Penalties:
-1: You had a hand in killing your Protector.
-1: You murdered or lynced your own Ward and they turned out to be a human.
I think this game would be far more interesting with a huge set of players, like more than 20. This way there would be more opportunity for conspiracy and intrigue. (In other words, slipping false information trying to get your Mark's Protector to try to get him to defend someone else.)
There's also the wolf-human intrigue going on at the same time. Good luck trying to convince people to kill a human just cause he's your Mark!
Thoughts?

First, can the Murder Team kill wolves just as they can kill humans? Sounds kind of like it could be used as a Viligante, heh. Second, what's with the ?wolves and ?players thing? Is that to be decided upon how many people sign up or something? Third, what exactly will the points do? And lastly, will you still be penalized if you had a hand in killing your Protector and they turned out to be a wolf?
