    Single Song Pack 1 REVEALED

    Single Song Pack 1

Huge thanks to Gundam-Dude and Profraine for the graphics.

Hi all! Single Song Pack 1 is finally released.

    Twelve simfile authors
kindly prepared their own interpretations of Kung-fu Empire, composed by Nekomata Master.

Enjoy the pack and notice how the same song can be stepped in different ways:

    Download (It's only 8mb!!)

It's time to unveil the secret!!

All stepauthors and their scores (in the form of: Average rating excluding self-votes, Like-Maybe-Dislike) will be revealed, followed by a list of all reviews for their files.
Then, the final ranking of the participants will be provided based on their overall scores, which are calculated by converting Likes/Dislikes into number ratings and then recalculating the average score. Each Like is converted into the average of the upper half of the number ratings, each Maybe into the average of the number ratings, and each Dislike into the average of the lower half of the number ratings.

    #01: BeatofIke (5.89/10, 2-0-0)
[Like, LongGone] Rather unique among the other files with some patterns and mine use. Middle felt a little inconsistent that it becomes singly layered in comparison to the other parts, feeling incomplete. Definitely playable though; its very varied. For some reason this might be my favourite submission in the pack
[3/10, IcyWorld] It was very boring
[3/10, Moches] Really having trouble following any sort of consistent layering in here.
[7.968/10, I like it] Prettty standard simfile. Medium-High replayability
[6/10, wc] nice and simple very minimalistic appreach. the second half felt a bit empty though
[6/10, Rebound] Layering was good but the flow wasn't there half the time because of the pattern choices you made. Also, it could be a bit more consistent than that. Overall, it was fun to some extent but I thought you could have done more with it.
[7.75/10, XxMidigamixX] Alright, the steps seem to be repeated a couple of times and probably a bit more variety could've helped towards the end mainly because I felt that it was repeating from the beginning. On the end, it would've been better to place a hold instead of notes to occupy space since it didn't feel synced at all. And in some parts, it could've used more layering imo. But overall, its a nice way to start off the pack.
    [9/10, Darkcalibur] Nice and easy
[6/10, BeatofIke] This is my file. Decent consistency and flow, but I feel it could be better than that. DECENT
[4/10, Reshiram] Some good PR, but some patterns irked me, like the 32nd rolls laid within the 16ths... and frankly it seems understepped.
[8/10, Wineandbread] The variation in focus of the steps appealed to me, kept it interesting. The layering was a bit on the light side, but I think was still fairly well done and made for better emphasis during the parts where the charter wanted them.
    [5/10, Yume]
[4/10, lurker] artful ignoring of everything interesting in this song, ghost notes
    [6.5/10, Bluearrow] 84-1-0-0-0

[Like, Anonymous] Bursts were kinda dumb compared to the otherwise minimalistic layering, but still Liked it
    [6.4/10, Anonymous]

    #02: Roar176 (5.05/10, 2-0-0)
[Like, LongGone] This file strongly reminds me of Toph's Nemesis lol. Rather bursty file with spikes here and there, though I felt bursts were inconsistent and some are left out.
[3/10, IcyWorld] I hate freeze arrow climax theory
[5.5/10, Moches] Decent file; main problems I see are with capturing the rhythms accurately and expression. I didn't have too much trouble following this, though, which is a major plus.
[8.999/10, I like it] Very fun and challenging file. High replayability
[6/10, wc] definitely harder than the first though still enjoyable. those 32nd burst were awkward to hit though
[2/10, Rebound] I didn't think this file was fun at all because of the fact that I did not even know how to follow what you were layering and the fact that there is a lot of difficultly gaps which is never good. Also, this file seems to be a bit too techincal at times and the flow just wasn't there. Overall, I did not thought this file was fun because of the choices you made in this file.
[7.25/10, XxMidigamixX] Like I said for the first one, NEED TO LAYER A BIT MORE! There was several melodies that you could've stepped but you chose to repeat the same pattern. Sadly, I was hoping that his file could be decent. But I did see that the ending synced well and that gives you bonus points.
    [6/10, Darkcalibur] dem transitions
[2/10, BeatofIke] Layering is bad overall. There were many random notes, hands, and quads that didn't go with the song at all. FAIL
[3/10, Reshiram] A lot of the same issues as 1, plus some of the 32nds were so softly laid in the song it's almost not worth expressing them.
[7/10, Wineandbread] Not too bad. The approach to the was iffy; The percussion bursts seemed a bit overlayered compared to the layering with the rest of the song. I thought the patterns were pretty decent conceived though.
    [6/10, Yume]
[3/10, lurker] made up half the shit he stepped, absolutely no good freeze use
    [4/10, Bluearrow] 87-4-0-0-0 1 NG

[Like, Anonymous] Not many comments, fun and solid. Liked it
    [7/10, Anonymous]

    #03: IcyWorld (4.95/10, 2-0-0)
[Like, LongGone] Feels like heavy layering. Bursts make it interesting, although for the last 1/3 of the song it felt a little lazy with straight 16th jumpstream which doesn't seem to represent the song well enough (I'm personally particular about apparent effort put into the file; I felt alot of it in the first part but not the ending).
[10/10, IcyWorld] my file I personally love how it came out
[3/10, Moches] Alright, the patterns for the most part are playable at the very least, so points for that. However, a lot of this is significantly incorrect technically. Needs some heavy revision.
[5/10, I like it] YO DAWG I HEARD YOU LIKE JUMPSTREAM SO I PUT SOME JUMPSTREAM IN YO JUMPSTREAM. low Replayability
[6/10, wc] plays like an icyworld file lmao might be the hardest chart in the pack. a lot of the 16th felt thrown in there though and the lack of transitions between the contrasting sections was eh
[4/10, Rebound] This one feels like a JS dump file the way I look at it. I was not able to follow your layering half the time because the way you did it wasn't done consistently so it was hard. Also, the flow was kinda there but could have been a lot better. Overall, for songs like this, don't try to layer everything you hear because it just does not work in this file.
[8/10, XxMidigamixX] Hi Icy. It feels like you made this file and it would be perfect for JS practice and jumpthrilling. But unfortunately, there was something that you missed in that file. But tbh, I don't think that the JS in the beginning is necessary (but then again, I have shitty $5 headphones hehu...) but this is a better effort than the other files.
[7/10, Darkcalibur] this is either made in korea or inside icyworld's pants. the latter being more likely
[4/10, BeatofIke] Dude, chill out with the notes LMAO. You don't have to step everything in the song. Just step the most prominent sounds. The notes are right and all, but it lacks consistency and flow because of this. It also ruins the fun factor of the file related to the song. BAD
[4/10, Reshiram] THIS IS NOT A JUMPSTREAM SONG. D: Plus, a lot of your freezes seem either an 8th early or late. Good job on the ending beats though...
[4/10, Wineandbread] Nice jumpstream bro. Obvious that this person wanted to step this as a jumpstream on purpose, despite the elements not being there (not just the jumpstream either). Or if they are, they are really, really faint. I just can't see a file like this being stepped as js properly. Aside from the invisible stream layer, the person did put effort into layering, sync, pattern choice, etc., so I will give this a 4/10
    [6/10, Yume]
    [2/10, lurker] go away dossar
    [4/10, Bluearrow] 143-4-0-0-0

[Like, Anonymous] A fun jumpstream representation of the file. The fun factor kinda evens out the technical discrepancies, so I actually have to say I Liked it
    [7.3/10, Anonymous]

    #04: Darkcalibur (3.08/10, 0-1-1)
[Maybe, LongGone] Notable 32nd onehanded trills might irk people. Aside from that it feels rather solid with the minijacks and such, though the triplejacks might be overdoing it a little.
[2/10, IcyWorld] To many jacks, jacks are gay :[
[4/10, Moches] Lots of ideas/methods used here that don't fit very well, in my opinion. Focus on streamlining patterns before you focus on the little things.
[5/10, I like it] A toned down version of 3 with more hands and minijacks. low replayibility
[2/10, wc] either the person who made this is really good and capable of hitting such gay patterns, the person who stepped this didnt bother play testing this -at all- or they stepped it gay for the sake of being gay
[2/10, Rebound] I did not like some of your layering choices because it made the file look overlayered in a way. It lacked a lot of flow and that I wasn't able to follow what you were doing half the time because of the fact that it was not used consistently within the song which is never good. Overall, I did not find this fun at all but it did seem liek you knew whazt you were doing to some extent but not enough.
[2.25/10, XxMidigamixX] Okay...the mini-holds on the end weren't synced AT ALL. The file itself felt out of sync in the beginning and frankly, I'm NEVER going to play this file ever again...
[0/10, Darkcalibur] I might have been high while stepping this. yea hands for beat
[2/10, BeatofIke] Basically the same as #02 and #03 combined, but worse. FAIL
[2/10, Reshiram] I had a lot of hope for this until the freeze triples came. Then... the jack trios on a clearly non-jacky rhythm. This has far too many jacks and freezes in inappropriate spots to be fun in my opinion, though it might be scorable.
[4/10, Wineandbread] Prolly sent this in to troll people, I dunno if you could step that legitimately. Blatant step errors would lead me to assume this is some form of a dump file. Some pretty terrible pattern placement throughout the song, but surprisingly decent flow.
    [5/10, Yume]
[1/10, lurker] seriously? go **** yourself
    [3/10, Bluearrow] 117-28-1-0-3 6 NG

[Dislike, Anonymous] Uh lol. The layering was inconsistent, jacks were a bitch to try to hit, 32nds where there should be 16ths... there's probably more wrong with it. It seemed like this could be a genuine file if it were fixed up and the patterns were toned down a bit, but as it stands I Disliked it.
    [5.8/10, Anonymous]

    #05: I like it (1.17/10, 0-0-1)
    [?, LongGone]
[0/10, IcyWorld] I'm don't get why anyone would do this wow
    [1/10, Moches] What.
[8.987/10, I like it] One big dump. medium-high replayability
    [1/10, wc] dump
[2/10, Rebound] This one honestly DOES looks like a dump file. I do not even think you put much effort on this to be honest because it does not show that you did. With all honestly, this file was just a nightmare.
[0/10, XxMidigamixX] Unplayable. Basically off-sync when I checked it on DDReam.
[?/10, Darkcalibur] o.............cant judge. My level is too low to play this.
[2/10, BeatofIke] This isn't Single Dump Song Pack 1. FAIL
[4/10, Reshiram] Is that you Roar? Nicr job NVLMing the song, though frankly I don't care for NVLM-style stuff. Not replayable in my place but frankly I'm sure it's worth plays to people who wanna brag about passes.
[1/10, Wineandbread] I failed at the trills so I'll just grade up to this point. I doubt it's much better any farther in, and most likely worse because it hasn't even reached the climax of the song yet. A very unworthy dump that doesn't even begin to represent in any possible way the song stepped. Blatant step and layering errors, abysmal pattern choices. If you're trolling or something I guess you succeed, cause this isn't in the slightest a) fun, b) technically accurate, c) replayable (by someone of my skill level). You get a 1/10 for submitting a file.
    [1/10, Yume]
    [1/10, lurker] asjdgahskjgdhsalfjashglkjsaghl quit out
    [1/10, Bluearrow] Quit out, failed

    [Dislike, Anonymous] **** no
    [0/10, Anonymous]

    #06: Patashu (6.29/10, 2-0-0)
[Like, LongGone] Rather technical with the little 24ths and 32nds here and there. Playable and solid, consistent, although I'm not so much a fan of some freeze usage.
[10/10, IcyWorld] very fluent and engaging, whoever made this did a very nice job
[4.5/10, Moches] I can tell you're trying to follow a lot of stuff here, but it's too much, and as a result your file seems very scatterbrained. Starting off with stepping simpler songs before you work your way up to layered songs like this might help with this. Definitely some potential to work with here moving forward, though.
[7.555/10, I like it] Went a bit crazy on the jumps but I liked the freeze arrows near the middle. medium replayibility
[8/10, wc] most enjoyable one so far
[4/10, Rebound] This one was not all so bad to be honest but the layering choices you made some parts of the file to feel overlayered in a way which also ruined your follow at times but it did seem like you put in some effort on this at least. It was fun to some extent but it could have been more consistent than that to be honest.
[8.75/10, XxMidigamixX] Best file so far. The only issue I have is the holds in the end. But other than that, interesting layering, smooth transitions, and great job on it.
[6/10, Darkcalibur] i was lost through most of this chart. couldnt feel some of those purple notes, and those 2 transitions to single long holds made my fingers twist in agony
[4/10, BeatofIke] Inconsitent/missing holds here and there. Same goes with jumps and hands. Somewhat decent layering, but it looks underlayered. BAD
[4/10, Reshiram] Seems... odd. Some of this file is good, but I think you deviated a good bit from the main freezable lines with yours... plus the doubles of them still piss me off. Plus some parts feel oversteppped.
[5.5/10, Wineandbread] Pretty not good. The obvious errors aside: some of the holds at the beginning confused me, the flow was not very good, questionable patterns throughout. I didn't like it very much in general, but I think that this person tried to put at least some effort into this file. The layering is probably the best thing about the file.
    [7/10, Yume]
[6/10, lurker] interesting but freeze use was just plain stupid
    [6/10, Bluearrow] 73-2-0-0-0 2 NG

[Like, Anonymous] Solid, fun, and seemed to flow really well for me. I thought the way you accentuated a couple sounds in the beginning was strange but overall Liked it.
    [6.8/10, Anonymous]

    #07: dandandamdandan1111 (3.51/10, 0-0-2)
[Dislike, LongGone] Notable jacks are hard to hit. 8th freezes reminds me of what you'd see in O2Jam lol. Started out ok but the rest of the file felt very....lazy.
[3/10, IcyWorld] To many freezes and jacks and the bursts could have been done better
[1.5/10, Moches] Ridiculously inconsistent in layering and difficulty.
[8.598/10, I like it] Was fun, would play again. high replayability
[5/10, wc] the better of the two dumps so far. ending was gay though
[2/10, Rebound] This one was okay at times but then after that first pause, I was just lost at what you were following in your layering and your random color notes. I did not think this one was fun at all.
[7.5/10, XxMidigamixX] The beginning was "WTF", then it went to pleasantly easy, then the file hit it off after the half-way mark. Its a rather strange attempt but I'm impressed with it after 50% through the song. But if you want to do an excellent job, you have to wow the players and judges from the start or else it would be disregarded.
[?/10, Darkcalibur] i think some parts of this chart got eaten by my stepmania or something. i couldnt follow the flow at all so i will refrain from judging
[2/10, BeatofIke] File just seems very empty. Invisible notes everyhere. No flow and consistency anywhere. FAIL
[0/10, Reshiram] The beginning is filled with misrhythms and inaccurately placed notes. Actually, about 80% of your arrows seem to be on a mysterious rhythm I can't even place, and your freeze usage looks atrocious.
[3/10, Wineandbread] This file is all over the place. Very inconsistent burst steps (not to mention inaccurate), ghost steps, pretty poorly chosen patterns, ending ritard isn't synced, etc. This gets a 3/10 for effort.
    [3/10, Yume]
    [1/10, lurker] NO
    [5/10, Bluearrow] 71-9-1-2-0

[Dislike, Anonymous] Inaccurate and overkill bursts, unnecessary jacks, err... sorry, but this one is a big Dislike for me.
    [4/10, Anonymous]

    #08: wc (6.09/10, 2-0-0)
[Like, LongGone] Feels complete. Simple and elegant, also one of my favs.
[6/10, IcyWorld] A fairly fluent file, though I think it could have used some more climax theory, the song provides enough opportunity to make a nice/challenging ending
[6/10, Moches] Drifted off a few times, but did a fairly good job at staying on track. You knew what you were going to follow and followed it well, so well done. A few errors with consistent layering/rhythms, but they're forgivable.
[7.111/10, I like it] another standard, fun simfile. medium replayibility
[6/10, wc] ending had some really awkward patterns mainly with the jump leading into the 32nds and the 32nd trills
[8/10, Rebound] Pretty chill file. I liked most of your layering choices you did and the flow was nice most of the time but there were also times when I did not like your pattern usages. Overall, pretty fun and chill but patterns should have been used better at time IMO.
[6.5/10, XxMidigamixX] First file to exclude the ending piano part. Some parts of the file (especially the mini-jacks) weren't in place with the song and that killed the file. But other than that, you did a decent job on it.
    [8/10, Darkcalibur] nice
[8/10, BeatofIke] Layering is actually good, but feels empty at some parts. Consistency and flow is okay as well. GOOD
[2/10, Reshiram] It's okay. Nothing special, and somewhat erroneous. But those jaaaaaaacks make me sad.
[7/10, Wineandbread] Decent. I think it might just be the song but the layering is a little awkward. This charter doesn't seem to like using hands or quads or holds at all which kinda detracts from the foci (did I just use ****ing foci in a review) of the song at times, for a keyboard file. But there isn't anything really glaringly wrong with it at first playthrough, so this gets a 7/10.
    [5/10, Yume]
    [4/10, lurker] vanilla
    [5.5/10, Bluearrow] 44-1-0-0-0

[Like, Anonymous] Very oldschool (huehue no hands), patterns were amazing, awesomely fun. Liked it a lot.
    [6/10, Anonymous]

    #09: qqwref (6.79/10, 1-0-1)
[Like, LongGone] Starting off at half bpm which I thought was weird but its to differentiate the file when it progresses on. Quite scarcely layered with respect to bursts but this keeps the file simple and elegant.
[6/10, IcyWorld] Pretty straight forward patterns with nothing awkward to hit, I think that the difficulty could have been raised to keep the file interesting.
[6.5/10, Moches] A lot of the patterns don't follow pitch relevancy well, but they all flow so the file is at least playable. The BPM changes in the middle were a little random; the one in the beginning was well done. This isn't necessarily a file I would agree with (if that makes any sense) but I think it's good for what it is and an enjoyable interpretation all in all.
[9.879/10, I like it] Extremely fun file, and the bpm changes threw me off as well. high replayibility
[7/10, wc] surprisingkly enjoyable but why the weird speed up in the beginning lol the other ones made sense though
[8/10, Rebound] Awesome pattern usage! The only thing I did not really like that much was your layering choices at times but the file was definitely fun to some extent and replayable.
[9.25/10, XxMidigamixX] Alright, this file is the best and probably the only one to use BPM changes. And that paid off big time. Plus, it feels like an old-school file without all of the complicated theories and what not. Though just a suggestion, I noticed that you could've layered the jumps a bit more but adding mines could've been a better thing to do instead of leaving them blank.
    [8.5/10, Darkcalibur] damn nice chart
[8/10, BeatofIke] Basically the same as #08, except that it is not empty. A spice of half BPM expressiveness wouldn't hurt. GOOD
[6/10, Reshiram] The pack's only x-modded file. Plays well, even when it seems erroneous but isn't really too bad. Good PR and overall, good flow.
[8/10, Wineandbread] Me likey. Lack of hands kinda bothers me but the use of holds was well conceived. Bpm changes were a nice touch. You didn't step the percussion bursts on purpose I assume; this is okay. I think that this is a very good "not-hardest" chart for the song.
    [4/10, Yume]
    [2/10, lurker] boooooooooooooooooooooooooring
    [7/10, Bluearrow] 39-0-1-1-0

[Dislike, Anonymous] Liked the use of bpm changes (playing on cmod anyways). I sorta thought the minimalistic layering at first was strange, because the patterns very suddenly became harder. It's a good attempt at climax theory but I think I have to say it's a borderline Dislike on this one.
    [5/10, Anonymous]

    #10: Gundam-Dude (8.36/10, 2-0-0)
[Like, LongGone] Color gimmicks and minifreezes to accentuate sounds. It felt pretty overexaggerated at the start of the file but it gets better as it carries on. Very liberal use of hands here makes it feel densely layered. Maybe could use some 32nds.
[8/10, IcyWorld] I like the ideas put into this one and it had nice fun patterns
[7.5/10, Moches] The climax is a bit empty (due to minemania) but otherwise a very solid file.
[7/10, I like it] standard simfile, the mines were challenging. medium replayibility
[8/10, wc] nice layering very fun and no ew patterns
[10/10, Rebound] This chart seriously looked like the way I approached it but without the 192nds everywhere. I thought this was amazingly done.
[8/10, XxMidigamixX] First file to use mines. Definitely used them correctly and it wasn't aminefield so great job. Not much to say about this. File was pretty decent.
    [9/10, Darkcalibur] GUndaM-DUdE
[10/10, BeatofIke] Looks like a typical Gundam-Dude file. 192nds everywhere. This file flows well, very consistent with patterns, and goes with the music. Overall, this file was fun and nicely done. EXCELLENT
[9/10, Reshiram] Kommi is that you? Either way, this is easily my favorite file from the set. Other than some of the mines being a little weird, it's very well stepped and expressed, with plenty of replay value for MA purposes I just wish you'd been as expressive in the ending notes as you were the rest of the way.
[9/10, Wineandbread] Most likely my favorite from the pack. Hold emphasis might have been a bit on the excessive side. However, flow was really nice and layering was solid. The one thing I felt was missing was the addition of percussion bursts at places, but this is easily stylistically overlooked imo.
    [9/10, Yume]
[7.5/10, lurker] expressivemanias or not this actually did more of the things i wanted, but there were a lot of broken and/or missing rhythms
    [8/10, Bluearrow] 73-4-0-0-1 2 NG 3 Mine

[Like, Anonymous] If you don't know who stepped this, you need to pay more attention to simfile authors xd Patterns flowed well, quirks and mines were expressive as usual. Typical <bleep> file, Liked it.
    [7/10, Anonymous]

    #11: Yume (5.36/10, 1-0-1)
[Like, LongGone] Overall feels very complete and solid with some nice freeze use imo. I felt one or two rather empty parts were weird; not sure if that was a conscious move. I like this file too
[6/10, IcyWorld] it had a good 30 second start, but some of the bursts are quite tricky, and having straight forward bursts are something i think people are afraid of putting into their files. Also I don't know how many times I have to say this but Freeze arrow climax is dumb.
[3.5/10, Moches] Beginning was VERY repetitive; copy/paste + adding jumps and extra notes is not how progression should be done. I quit out after that, but if the rest of the file was stepped in the same way, I have a pretty good idea of how I would have rated it.
[6.666/10, I like it] Not much to say about this sim, it was challenging. medium replayiability
[4/10, wc] why so aggressive? layering is harsh which makes the file unenjoyable for me
[4/10, Rebound] This feels like another JS dump file but more accurate. The layering on this one was just too much. I think you tried to layer everything you heard on this one which is something you should avoid. Also, that killed the natural flow of the file which also is not good but it was somewhat fun though.
[8.25/10, XxMidigamixX] Another JS practice file? Well, at least it wasn't a dump, plus, I think this file is better than #3. File was on sync regardless. And same comment for the beginning (as I said for File #3).
    [9/10, Darkcalibur] cool
[4/10, BeatofIke] Basically the same as #03 overall, but a bit worse due to some invisble notes. BAD
[3/10, Reshiram] Blaaaah. Too heavy on the 16ths and jacks. Though some parts were expressed nicely.
[5/10, Wineandbread] Kinda reminds me of #3, except a bit sillier. Beware of invisible 16th strems. Hold PR theory looked solid but in context to the layering, way excessive. It flowed pretty okay though once you got used to the 16th strems xd
    [7/10, Yume]
[5/10, lurker] less offensive than the other dumps but the jumpstreams still annoy me
    [3.5/10, Bluearrow] 188-28-1-2-3 4 NG (lag issues)

[Dislike, Anonymous] The bursts flowed pretty well while still being difficult, but the holds were hard to read and the general flow for most of the chorus didn't really do it for me. Gonna have to say Dislike on this one.
    [7.8/10, Anonymous]

#12: Cyrenics (will only count heavy)
    Beginner (4.44/10, 0-0-0)
[3/10, IcyWorld] it's quite a cluster**** at some points
[9/10, I like it] Im such a sucker for freeze arrows. high replayibility
[4/10, wc] those bursts lol file is hard for the sake of being hard
[7.5/10, XxMidigamixX] Definitely a whole bunch of difficulty spikes. Great for scoring factors. Also...HOLD ABUSE! I prefer Heavy over this...
[2/10, Reshiram] You're such a dick for those dense rolldump sections. Though frankly I think you did that on purpose. I'd replay it a bit for scoring but not for long.
[5/10, Wineandbread] Nice bursts dude. xd
    [1/10, Yume]
[2/10, lurker] i have never seen lazy 192nds before
    [3/10, Bluearrow] 115-19-0-2-3 3 NG

    [5.5/10, Anonymous]

    Heavy (6.26/10, 2-0-0)
[Like, LongGone] The short colored burst-esque patterns are the focus here, makes it feel different than the other files.
[5/10, IcyWorld] minifreezes kind of clustered the file making it not fun to read while at other points it's to easy to read so it's got a hard spike/easy pit type of feel that a lot of new simfiles tend to have nowadays
[4.5/10, Moches] The attempts to keep consistency are nice to see, but what ended up happening is that the various layers of the file overlapped and almost made it unplayable. When following many instruments, layer them in a way where it's possible to fit all of them in the least amount of arrows possible (and NEVER straightlayer, unless making a dumpfile really is your intent). It's a good start, though: I can see that you tried to keep structure.
[7/10, I like it] a slower version of the novice. medium replayability
[6/10, wc] better though the jumps into hand jacks were ew they fit i guess
[6/10, Rebound] Anyway, I thought the layering was good to some extent but I wasn't really a fan on some of the pattern choices you used but it was fun and a bit challenging when i played it so good job.
[8.75/10, XxMidigamixX] Great file, decent layering and excellent rtransitions. Nothing more to say hehu.
[8.5/10, Darkcalibur] only one part was mildly annoying because of holds. I like the chart though.
[6/10, BeatofIke] Layering and consistency isn't too bad, yet not so impressive either. Color notes to express the 12ths didn't feel right. The file is legit enough though. DECENT
[7/10, Reshiram] It's a fairly simple take. Might've been able to add a few freezes for more expression but overall it looks nice. But what's up with the colored 12ths in the beginning? You're weird.
[6/10, Wineandbread] Okay. I seemed to have picked up a lot of layering and hold inconsistencies but don't take my word for it. You tended to put these fairly weird-pattern bursts with some of the complex percussion sections / the underlying piano build ups.
    [5/10, lurker] seriously average

[Like, Anonymous] This one flowed really well for me. Loved the minihold bursts and overall patterns. The ending and chorus were done differently in some parts with the holds compared to other files that I liked. Really Liked this one.
    [6.1/10, Anonymous]

    Overall
[IcyWorld] I think people are afraid to step a song to its full potential because it might get bad reviews, so they make it beyond easy trying to be as technically accurate as possible without "overstepping". Also the idea that just because the same sounds are playing doesn't mean you have to step it similarly, and can use it to your advantage has not catched on yet. My favorites from this pack are 3, and 6, the rest I probably would not play more than once.
[XxMidigamixX] Average: 6.8/10 There were some good files but I question some of the files in here... GRADE: D+
[Darkcalibur] Subjectivemanias and Cynicism Aside, this pack was a nice experience. Even though the files looked alike for the most part, i could perceive a touch of uniqueness in every one of them.
    [Reshiram] Top 3:
    1) File 10
    2) File 12, Heavy
    3) File 9
Keep in mind I'm being very subjective according to my ears and my sensibilities.
    [Bluearrow] Average rating: 5.375/10

LMFAO at some of the reviews XD (mostly because how lurker and bluearrow were judging)

        But yeah, I feel bad because I was so harsh when I was reviewing this. I'll be more lenient next time ;__;

Except for you #5, your file was a piece of shit lmao

            > not a single bad review for gundam-dude's

            nice work

there was actually a lot more variety than I expected there'd be. you can kind of get your head into the other person's when you look at so many takes on exactly the same music. you see who uses jumps for that, who uses single notes and layers and who just ignores it because they're doing something else, who has something hard and something easy in mind, how much they want to make it steady difficulty and no gaps, etc etc. I liked qqwref's because he boldly understepped and I'm a bit guilty-pleasure for yume's js practice take. I also O_O'd when drtran and yume stepped those bagpipe minijacks I didn't know existed, just when you think you really know a song that kind of shit happens

I don't think there's anything to feel bad about judging the files harshly as long as you reviewed all the files without initial bias and have reasonable opinions of them

This is quite an interesting pack; Would eagerly wait for SSP2

i suspected the best file was gd's
i was going to make a comment that it was a good parody of a gd file if it wasn't as good
