      Guillaume Tell

For L'erisia, FFR's word censor screws it up. At the address bar, delete the "****" and replace it with "s h it" (no spaces of course).

2 had terrible songs for the most part but okay steps. 3 had terrible steps throughout, although I do enjoy Samurai Beat. (and all the left arrow every quarter crap, and so when the Up Left was used it felt incredibly awkward since that key was basically neglected)

          Re: ITT: Solo packs

Learn to tap bass with your ring, because you'll see it a lot. I avoiding using column 2 heavily because ring trills are hard to get accustomed to, and that brings up the issue of brackets.

The stepcharts in 3 are generic, though I'm curious as to what makes them "terrible steps". They're plain old 1/8 chordstreams; nothing special, but I wouldn't go so far as to say they're terrible. As far as solo charts go they're on the mediocre section of the spectrum.

I won't be stepping files like xsbp3 for any of the future packs; if you hated 3, that might be a sigh of relief for you. Once I'm done with these beginner packs I'm going back to stepping files like PxFxS so don't worry

          p.s.

That was the idea. I'm not making these packs for replayability value; get good at chords, discard the pack. Longetivity isn't something I'm putting into these packs rofl, what gave you that idea

The entire purpose of these packs is to give players easy files to build a base on, get good at certain techniques (in the case of xsbp3, simple chords; in the case of xsbp4, holds; in the case of xsbp5, streaming - or so it's planned). Once you're good enough at them, there's no point in playing them anymore because that's their sole purpose

Well actually I think I might shave off 4 and 5 and start working on the collab finale xsbp

I'm getting really lazy (step 30 fully charted songs and tell me it doesn't get tedious) and I want to get back to single releases i.e. real files

                      Re: ITT: Solo packs

Ok yeah, I'm gonna say forget xsbp4/5. Finding songs to step is not as easy as you might think, when you take into consideration I have to break down each song so that it can make 4 difficulties, and that I wanted streaming/freeze oriented songs (which is extremely specific). I'm going to admit: I stepped XSBP3 in 8 days. When you consider that I took 1-2 months for the previous two packs, you can see the result is more unpolished. Stepping these is just getting tedious and if I keep this up all you guys are going to get is more unpolished, boring garbage.

So instead, I'm going to change XSBP6: Finale to XSBP4 and work on polishing this alongside other simfilers (Fysx, Stargroup, Gundam-Dude as of now) to create something more presentable than the travesty that is XSBP3 (I admit, I think it's actually really boring other than Bad Apple and Silver Dream).

I'm pretty set on this, because if I step another 20 fully charted files I'm going to commit homicide.

Sounds fair. Can't wait for the next XSBP, whatever it is. :P

Your good files + good files from other people for a couple songs more than previous packs = win

Death Moon Hx level 29 O2Jam hard song !!!

@Ghakim: Your file was actually pretty fun for an O2-emulating chart. Keep in mind though, the reason O2 doesn't employ PR is because you're actually playing the music (assuming it's not an unofficial chart). Notes will follow certain keys and they generally don't switch more frequently than every two measures. Keeping that in mind, a sound should always fall on its assigned key during the set measures. Don't **** notes everywhere thinking it's "O2". Making a piano song non-PR isn't a good idea.

If you want to make an O2 style chart, pick something with more you can work with (electronica, for example). Piano songs hurl themselves at PR charts (so you can feel like you're playing it if you're not musically inclined like most rhythm gamers) so really, don't bother

I'd give your chart a 4/7 for being experimental though

Haven't released anything in a while so here's a new sim:

                              http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...p?songid=38701

Converted Burning Heat! to solo, with minor tweaks. Pretty fun file.

                              How is it?
