So I uploaded my first two files ever..

And hopefully they're not too bad. The first was made kinda half-seriously to be tough, while the second I made for a good difficulty balance.

    I'm a Maid: Beginner/Light/Heavy
File is streamy and has a bunch of 32nds. Light is BS, random minijacks and jumpstream, but still kinda fun IMO.

    Enternal Nocturne: Heavy
A nice jumpstreamy file, with some 32nd bursts, and two 24th trillls.

Comments and criticism especially welcome. xD

Re: So I uploaded my first two files ever..

    I'm A Maid:

I'm sorry, but there is no need to make a file hard for fun. Most of this file is bs. A lot of the hands are poorly placed, and the sixteenth run, not only is it bs'd through (i.e. you just put random notes with lots of one hand trills in between) but it has ZERO to do with the music. I didn't even want to play light, since you said yourself it was bs. While this file would have been ok to step, there was absolutely no need to make it so damn hard.

Also, the beginning when there are little drum hits, it's terribly synced. Also right after that when you're trying to sync it to the voice. Slow down the song to help with that.

    Eternal Nocturne:

Ewww dBu. Putting that aside, this file is pretty decent. My biggest thing with it is that it's off sync. First of all, the beginning piano part has several time changes, which you didn't adress. You can use ddream studio for that kinda syncing. Then the rest is just plain off. I'm pretty sure it's the gap, which you can fix by pressing f11 and f12.

Most of the streams are okay, although some of the jumpstream is a little bs. At times, the hands you put are brilliant (the piano section in the middle is very nicely done) but at times they have no place (just before the middle piano section). I was pretty intent with this stepfile, and then came the guitar solo. I have to say this is the worst part of the file. You bs'd through the stream again, and then made it jumpstream. Just because drum hits are there DOES NOT mean they need to be stepped. During a solo like that, jumpstream may not be such a good idea. You should flesh out the guitar, and really just feature it. Then you put hands in the guitar solo. These are absolutely unnecessary in the file. Do not try to make a file this hard when the rest was relatively easy. Overall though, a nice file.

In conclusion, you seem to trying to model your files off of the modern, "new age" stepping, where it's all about how close it is to the music. While that's okay, start of easy, and don't mess with jumpstream until you get better. Making stepfiles isn't easy, and you've gotta start slowly.

      Thanks dude. =)

Yeah, I was expecting crap on I'm a Maid, and some on Eternal Nocturne, though I'm pretty sure I had time changes in there and it's synced for me on my stepmania, but bleh, maybe it's off.

Maybe I'll try later to improve on that chart, and find some other music to step.

I'm a maid has no 32nds in it (unless it's half bpm for some reason)

        bye

whyyyyyyyy would you step i'm a maid

ill look at the files in a sec i guess

          im a maid
          heavy:
          chart:
          1. beginning is like 2 seconds offsync
          2. once the song speeds up, the sync is still a good 1/4th of a second off
          3. from here the chart is similar to the original, except with garbage 48ths
          4. then you change and add stream when the song doesnt even have stream
          5. it still has bs 48ths at this point
          6. i dont feel like reviewing the rest this is depressing
song: unoriginal; it already has a chart thats just fine if you reallllly want to pay a song as bad as this :P
          not reveiwing other difficulties

          eternal nocturne:
you freaking took the original chart sync and added absolute trash everywhere

          what were you thinking?

Bob, that is hardly constructive criticism.

Okay, I guess I'm a Maid is constructive, but this is hardly:

well when you make a simfile, id expect a different sync at least. what this person did is pretty much steal the file then added there own patterns, thus saying it's theirs

well that isn't necessarily bad, all ideal syncs will have the same result so it's a time saver
