If you guys really think making pad files is that easy, try entering a pad simfile tournament, like BEST-mix at bemanistyle.com (the next one is scheduled to be this winter). You guys may think it's "easy" to make them, but once you've tried to compete against some of the most well known and best pad simfilers in the whole Stepmania community, you'll be quite amazed at how much it really takes to make a pad file "good".

And Sulfer, you should really try one of the competitions they've got, possibly the upcoming Winter BEST-mix? I've seen a lot of your works in DSU 3, and I think, with enough experience in actual pad simfile tournaments, you could learn a lot from the best guys there and could end up being pretty close to their skill level at making pad files with enough practice.

So, yah, anyone who's not really comfortable with making pad files, PM me, Sulfer, or anyone else who would like to give a hand.

Uh... where? I'm with you though, StepMix isn't anywhere near the quality of BEST-mix files (and just if you're wondering, BEST-mix did NOT copy StepMix's name. BEST-mix was previously named DDR OSC for Original Step Contest long before StepMix was even thought of, but the title was recently changed due to many changes in the rules).

Yeah, in the forums there's a thread where they discuss how cool StepMix is and I'm sitting on the computer reading and I'm like o_o wtf are they doing?

Bleh, screw this, I'm just gonna make a dumpy pad file. My keyboard chart is so awesome it'll make up for it.

Actually, I changed my mind, but you can do the pad chart if you want, TK. I just need to get motivated, I hate fixing all the little errors in a file...

Actually, I changed my mind, but you can do the pad chart if you want, TK. I just need to get motivated, I hate fixing all the little errors in a file...

Uh, I'm assuming it's ok. I guess I'd just get credit for making half of the file, or there would be a cd-title reading Sulfer ft. TK_pav or something like that.
