Well so much for me puzzling over why none of my stuff got in. Aside from lack of graphics, I see it was keyboard steps you were all looking for. An area of stepfiles I'm somewhat inexperienced in anyway, for I am a pad-style whore.

On the whole, I'll have to say it's a fairly finger burning set. Some I particularly enjoyed (mainly because I could actually pass them barely or they fitted the music very well) and ones not so (mainly those of ridiculous difficulty and other technical problems), but I'm far from saying this pack is awful. I just need to start doing some keyboard files that aren't my recent "Nageki no ki" (lol) and I might get something in a pack. XD

Having to say "holy **** your files are ****ty" isn't exactly the best way to push a stepfile artist to get better, so I hope you get better at that. My files were in the very least decent IMO and I appreciate your comments, but little tidbits of your comments like "ass" or "****ty" doesn't do you justice in me having to trust myself with your criticism (I don't like your files either rofl..) I don't need to be an OMGAwesome stepfile author to know that much.

So I'll stick to my own style of sensible file-making for the not-so-elite and worry less about the type of senseless bull**** that you attempt to type on your keyboard thinking "oh my, let's bash on this simfile artist because I made then he did roflmao".

Man....you guys really dont get it.

Try having your files cretiqued by Aperson, Tear, Malice, HAYDEN, you probably wouldnt ever want to make simfiles again. You really need to stop being so sensitive, if he wanted to be an asshole theres TONS of worse things he could have said. DS is one of the most respected simfile artists left. He wasnt giving you an in depth cretiquing of the files, he was mainly giving his first opinions on the files, and some extra insight on files that he thought were somewhat close to being good.

Trying to make an undercover personal attack on him isnt going to take our attention away from the issue at hand. You can be mad all you want, but the truth is 90% of the sm community is going to agree with him (wether u beleive and accept it or not).

i've been taught bpm tricks by jenovasephiroth and i ended up with retard drums, which isn't half bad.

not siding with anyone, i do believe criticism (as harsh as it may be) can only give you points on how to improve. If i wanted to get an in depth review on a file i'd pm the one doing the review and ask what i could improve specifically rather than cry over mistakes that i could fix.

ps. CR your files were accepted cuz they were really fun even though there might have been a few mistakes. not that it mattered for this pack tho

I don't care how well they play this game -- the majority of FFR/SM/DDR players are rude and stupid for the sake of being rude and stupid. If someone makes good files, simply telling others "Your stuff sucks" is not a constructive criticism. It's one thing to be oversensitive to having people critique your work to death, making you feel like you did many things wrong, but it's entirely valid to get a bit upset if someone's merely saying your stuff sucks and that's that. For someone who is "respected," that was very sub-par analysis of a simfile pack.

Why do you think good simfile artists are a lost breed now? The people who are interested want to get better, but get INCREDIBLY poorly-delivered and rude criticism all the time that doesn't *teach* them *how* to step files better. People should be explaining how to fit certain types of patterns to certain types of music and structures and why these arrow fits are superior to others, and what makes a fun file fun. Instead you have this tiny, elitist group of people who, admittedly, make good stepfiles -- but they prefer to spew garbage instead of anything useful. It's not a very inviting hobby, and people wonder why things are on a steady downward spiral.

Seriously, we're not asking for a cookie for an effing medal. Everyone is complaining about how there not very many simfile artists anymore when the reason is gleaming in front of you. Constructive criticism doesn't involve getting kicks and giggles over a newb artist by doing the complete opposite of what it should be. Sure DS said some things that could in the very least improve some simfiles, but making a dim-witted response like he did just does more bad than good.

As for being sensitive, I think I speak for all artists that get bashed by those who think they can insult other people's hard work for their own giant-ass ego.

Why are people complaining in the first place? This wasn't supposed to be an uber pack like SMG2, or something. It was a chance for other people to have their simfiles in a pack. I didn't have really high expectations for this, so I enjoyed a lot of the files, but some were still really bad. Obviosuly, I won't name anything for the sake of being flamed, but as long as you're not expecting absolute perfection you can enjoy at least half the stuff in here.

Besides, I'm sure a lot of people will like this, just not the leets. However, there are millions of SM players, compared to just a handful of leets.

P.S. And Rubix just said what I've thought since I got into the SM community.

Meh, the fact that DS gave his time to at least put an opinion on (nearly) every file in the pack is good enough for me. Yeah, I would have liked to have received better criticism than "It was ok," "Hated the song," and "Didn't play," but considering he didn't have to give any criticism at all (whether harsh or constructive), it's rather nice that he was willing to at least offer an opinion to less experienced artists.

It means, quote: "Oh god I'm so sick of this song I'm not even going to try it." Therefore, it's neither a good thing, or bad thing.
