Stepping songs in note pad?

Explain how this is done please. I've looked at other forums with tutorials but they're complicated. Can anyone explain?

take a look at any existing sim you have in notepad... it's pretty simple to figure out. But I have to second patashu's sentiment. It's pointless unless you want to make things incredibly difficult for yourself.
