    Stepfile - Chrono Cross- Time's Scar

    As I said in my last thread, I am a newbie to this community. I don't know if this song has been done already, and if it has, I'm sorry. Anyway, I made a step file for the opening song to Chrono Cross (a Squaresoft game) entitled Time's Scar.

    Please let me know what you think, especially since this is my very first stepfile. You can download it at http://www.gnethelpers.org/stepfiles/Time's%20Scar.zip

    Any comments and suggestions are welcome. You can use the stepfile however you want and do whatever you want with it as long as you give the proper credit.

    Song Info-
    Title: Time's Scar (Chrono Cross opening song)
    Composer: Yasunori Mitsuda
    BPM: 80 -> 112
    Difficulty: I guess it is difficult (another thing I would like people to tell me their opinions about. I'm not good at rating the difficulty of a song)

    Thanks

    I didn't play it...but I watched the arrows go by while doing my homework eating popcorn and the music was muted.

    It was most likely on beat, there were a couple parts I liked though the beginning and ends need variety (I don't even know what song it is).

    Also, eliminate the light steps because there's like, nothing on them. And move the standard to heavy. Or just by the difficulty I say you make the standard heavy and copy that to challenge as well and make it a bit harder.

    Again, keyboard was out of reach and there was no music so I couldn't make analysis beyond arrow variety. It's not a difficult song, seemed standard, but you still would want to move it to heavy if you have just steps for one difficulty set, and if you have two, use challenege for the harder. If you have three use light, standard, heavy.

      Steps were pretty good for a novice stepfiler. The beat change was done perfectly, the steps were in sync, and you didn't try to do anything fancy. The difficulty rating was fine, you could probably even go a foot lower with it honestly.

      The only part that bothered me was when you would have 4+ 1/8ths that were all left or whatever. Unless there's a good reason for having that many of the same arrow in a row (either because it goes with the song or it's a fast jackhammer for difficulty) you should at least do a simple pattern like left-down-left-down to keep it a bit more interesting.
      Oh yeah, and freeze arrows that go with the music are always fun as well

      If you want to take a look at what an expert stepfiler did with the song, Udderdude has actually stepfiled this song (under the name Scars of Time - check www.bemanistyle.com for it) and I really like the steps he wrote for it.

        I played it. The part before the bpm change seemed a tiny bit off but not a big deal. Yes the steps were good for a new person to the picture. I disagree with you altairian, I think it should be kept the same in difficulty except make the beginning part with a few more sprayed arrows because it's very boring. And the 1/8ths that were all one arrow was fine. I don't think you should put freezes either. Unless they are at the slow-paced start.

          I was speaking more in general than for that specific song... I don't want him to think his steps were bad, just trying to help give him ideas for any future work he does.
