i made a level for sm, but after the song the background and level does not end.

Regardless of difficulty or type (like having steps that go past the normal end in another difficulty or on solos etc.)?

First you need to find which difficulty is making the file not stop. Then just cut/delete the steps.

There is no function that says the file should stop.

wut if there r no xtra steps after the song and the complete part does not show up

I can't help you there, but are you sure you checked all of them? Including solos, and doubles?

If there are no extra steps, then you might want to go into your songs folder and look at the .dwi file. The end of the steps should look something like this:

00000000
40006000;

Or something. Try putting the semicolon on a new line (I think), like this:

00000000
40006000
;

It might actually be the other way around =/

Also, please type normally, seeing you type like that REALLY doesn't make me think that you have any clue about what's going on.

EDIT: Oh and I also sigged "i just need to know wut i press in edit mode to tell the game that when the level should end." on Stepmaniaonline.com's forums. Thanks for that

Check for any bpm changes are pauses past the end of the song and remove them. If there aren't any, I believe you can open up the .sm file and add the tag #MUSICLENGTH and set it equal to the number of seconds you want the file to be.
