A Return to Order (Alexmandi) - Cool file. Wrong pack. There are some minor technical errors but this is something that would have fit right into vgmp4, it's just not at all what we're looking for here. Alternatively, since iirc shovel knight music is cc, you can submit it to the etterna default songs pack.

I'll have to run your other submission by lofty before we come to a determination. I think it's something we could work with you on, but he may or may not veto it.

@travis I'm not spending my time reviewing any files unless they're actual submissions. If that's a submission, it's not, because it's a million miles and possibly one or two temperatures under the difficulty minimum.

Radioactive (Masayoshi Iimori Remix) (James May) - This certainly feels a lot different from most of the other files in the pack so far. I like it, but I don't really have any comments on it at the moment. I'll run it by lofty and get back to you after I'm more familiar with the file to see if we think anything needs to be changed/fixed.

Blow Me (One Last Kiss) (Alloyus) - This is so much better now. There are some things that seem a little tricky or off still, but they're minor. It'll be easier on both of us I think if I just make fine adjustments to things and send you back proposed revisions after a few playtests.

Golden Sky - This is getting pretty close to a lock; you have my tentative notes via pm-- edit: ok i think the 48ths are fine actually

Seeing you shred these submissions is intimidating as hell. It makes me want to be anally technical with my submissions.

Do you prefer fun over technical when it comes to overall judgement? I have a couple things I might send your way.

I might change up the jack patterning on that file (the 2 long 16ths sections) after looking through it and seeing that it might be a bit awkward to nail those parts on rates. To be honest, this file was purely experimental on my part haha, took a gamble to see if it worked in my favor u3u

i have a playthrough in my most recent vod and some comments based on it but assuming lofty revives himself in some reasonable time frame i want to run it by him and get aggregate comments first

but yeah the one hand jumps in the long jacks are pretty brutal

actually fuck it i was going to suggest layering in the vocals to the jacks and turning them into runningmen (prolly 24th stream with the 16th jack so it doesn't get out of hand) and then layering in the jumps in a more friendly manner

see at 68.8s you have the ascending 24th roll to the "ha" (technically the vocal spans the length of a triplet starting on the 12th and ending on the 4th), you can layer that in every time that sound repeats in the section and then that more importantly opens you up to layering in the more varied vocals in the second half of the file, which feels really empty compared to the rest except for 187.424 where you have that really long single jack that connects 3 sets of jumpjacks together (which you should break up)

also i'd advise keeping the lengths of the 48th trills consistent, sometimes you have 4/3 and other times you have 3/3. I'd suggest turning them all into 3/3 since they're already the hardest part of the file, equal length short trills feel more natural, and the 4th they end on tends to have that prominent synth hit that doesn't really feel like it belongs to the trill sets

some of the really fast offcolor anchors/jacks at the end are super hard to read and hit so you might want to repattern them

I'd also end all the short streams starting around 150 with jumps, I don't really have any justification other than I'm pretty sure they'd feel nicer

nah i think the jacks are fine with some slight runningman bursts to spice them up, i wouldn't fundamentally change it out of jacks

the vers i have in my inbox definitely has 48th trills mixed with bursts so you'll have to shoot me an updated vers if that's not right, i do think the trills might be ok though being cut just a little bit shorter

and yeah i would use freezes rather than jacks at the end
