tip: don't step for solo unless you actually play solo. that's the only way you'll know what are really dumb patterns

but then again, if you're just starting out, everything is really dumb so... probably take that with a pinch of salt

to answer the question though, any patterning is fair game as long as you aren't doing the one hand biased stuff for more than 70% of the chart or spamming brackets [13][2][13] or [46][5][46] etc.

one of my personal habits for charting 6key is to make both hands' patterning relatively balanced, trying not to make one hand/side denser than the other. not saying that's a correct methodology to 6key charting, but I just use it as a guideline of sorts—that's just my personal preference for 6key files in general.

c1 bass files I tend to play on mirror because I'm right-handed and if the chart is predominantly left handed, I'm going to get a lot more CBs and worse accuracy playing it non-mirror.
