getting sounds out of flash animations

let's say i find a flash movie online with a cool soundtrack to it and i want to make a stepfile for it. how would i go about extracting the sound from that flash movie? this has bothered me on countless occasions, and i think it would be helpful to know such a thing.
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

It has bothered me, too, but the only way I know of is just by recording the sound coming to your soundcard on sound recorder or something.

If they are full songs, just get soulseek and DL them off of there.

and how would i go about doing that? and i'm not resorting to using a mic, because then quality = crap

find a sound recorder (dont know if the regular Windows one can do this, but it probably can) and record "Stereo Mix"
that's whats generated in your sound card before it comes out of your speakers, sort of.
its a lot better quality than a mic, and it should be fine
just make sure no one im's you or anything while you're recording

If you can save the .swf, you can usually extract the sound from it with a .swf decompresser.

If you didn't understand that, don't worry. You shouldn't be wanting to do this in the first place if you didn't.
