Head over to the FFR Batch Forum for all the details on how you can get your file into the game. The Artist Permissions forum section will help you find out if FFR has permission to use the song your file goes with.
But then something else doesn't really make much sense. Why would you use different terms on the outside and inside when they mean the same thing and are explicitly and easily interchangeable? I think it's better to just stick to one, the one that makes sense.
People should use the "chart" word because the name of the game is CHARTMANIA
"step" is a part of the game's culture and history, yes it's technically absurd but I think everyone'd agree on the fact it's a pretty inoffensive piece of language at worst, and we have no reason to format it.
We use expressions that mirror the identity of the community and it's actually a plus to have them, it's a way to weld that whole body together with customary gimmicks. I don't see how that kind of element is detrimental to the game's image, and it'd be a bit sad to try to artifically break away from that kind of idiosyncrasy. That syntax never led to interior conflicts or confused people from what it actually meant when used in context.
Not to mention that anybody in the community perfectly understands what the word "chart" means, so you're totally free to use it, nobody will ever hate your for it, nobody will find it silly. If it changes, it has to be a natural process, something that would implicitly grow on the community, it's basically useless and incongruous to make a thread on it when there's no direct emergency on the matter.
bonus paragraph : when you say "stepping" people know you're talking about Stepmania so you don't have to say something like "CHART IT ON STEPMANIA", because nobody uses it for any other rhythm game (which would be already more problematic), so it's pretty useful on a variety on contexts, while I really have a hard time noting negative impact from using that word on the whole community of rhythm games.
lmao this thread got bigger than i thought it would
I'm actually enjoying the discussion despite the topic not warranting all this much attention.

Probably the best statement in this thread, a mistake I realized as soon as I made it.

Reading a wikipedia article on semantic shift is too hard. You expected too much.
Also, unless you are a stepper yourself and are introducing what you do to someone new, I don't think new players really care about who steps what and the actual process of stepping to even come in contact with the term.
