I remember when people stated Stepmania was moribund and on a decadence slope.
When the activity of the communities was near idleness.

We transcended elitism!!!! now everybody is good at stepping!!!11

You were a strong vector into the praxis toward this path. This would be abusive to consider you to be the sole and 0nly cause of the current state of the community, but you gave one hell of an helping hand.
Shutting down the whole X chancellor gimmick and praising innovation and openness to new styles instead of the old, narrow paradigm was a great step(mania!!!) for the community when FFR was brought back (don't think it would have worked so well in the xoon-packs era). I wouldn't be surprised if one stated that elitism somehow forced the community to focus on a few artists and let few to no opening for newbies because of how discouraging it was at the time.

you're completely right. not gonna point fingers, but considering some of the dicks who ran this place back in the day it's surprising that most people still stuck around

                    touche, douche

EDIT: I was just looking for an excuse to make that pun. serious answer: obviously the people who run the community now stuck around. I'm referring to people who might have stayed but were driven away because the atmosphere was so cold here. even I considered quitting a few times because I felt like nobody would rly care but I liked the game too much to do so :3
