Yet another ps2 to PC usb connection problem

I'm sure you guys get this question a million times. I did search this thread to see if I could find any help to my problem but came up empty handed. So, I'm going to try to ask in a new post and see if anyone can help me.

Here's the deal. I run Windows ME. I have an Ignition pad 2.0 and the dual usb adaptor from red octane. I install the usb adaptor...goes through. I plug in the pad, new device is found and added. So far so good. Start up step mania. Lights light up when buttons are pressed but doesn't register in step mania or the PC version of DDR. I go to the game controls in Control panel. Try to test the pad. Again, lights up on pad, no acknowledgement on test. Systems says the usb port and pad are working properly with correct drivers. I hear that there might be an LED problem or voltage? both the igniton and the dual usb adaptor are by red octane, shouldn't they be compatable with voltage? Has anyone else had this problem or know how i can correct it? I'd be very greatful for any information.

    Thanks.

It's probably Win ME, it's such a piece of utterly useless gorilla shit.
