That would be its name. It would be an option in the main menu. There would be maybe 3 servers for people to play on (minimizing lag is a must). Once you are in a server, you would be in this one lobby, similar to battle.net. You could pick whatever channel to be in, and meet people there, or you could stay in the default channels. You would engage in conversations/challenges with other people simply but double clicking their user name, where a private chat box is opened with options for a challenge. If the person accepts, you, the challenger, decide what song to play. After your opponenent agrees, the options menu is opened. Then it would proceed as you would expect. After the score screen (chat is enabled at all times by hitting enter), you could either go back to the lobby or go to the private chat box with the other person you just played.
In-game microphones would work, too.
Every user would have a profile with general information about themselves. If you mouseover someone's name in the lobby, you see what they rate themselves. They can write whatever they want to.
THERE IS NO RANKING SYSTEM, THOUGH. IT'S SIMPLY GETTING CONNECTED TO A SERVER, CHALLENGING/ACCEPTING GAMES, PLAYING. THAT'S IT.
