    Issue With Freezes Disappearing

    Alright, I've been working on a file for a bit now, and parts of the song have freezes with some of the background sounds layered over it. At first, it appears normal, but after a few seconds into the freezes when playing the song for real, every other freeze disappears, mostly (but not all) on the spot where the other layered sounds are, where it forms a jump with one freeze (that's the problem - it's only does this to most, not all). This issue also affects the other freezes to a lesser extent.

    Does anybody know the cause of this? I don't use freezes often, so I don't understand the problem very well at all (besides, I've never run into this issue before). I'd appreciate any help given, and once it's fixed, I plan on releasing the file into Resonance.

    Thanks.

    What version of stepmania are you using?
    What noteskin, what theme?

      I'm using 3.9.

      I was originally using the FFR noteskin, but I did test it with the default noteskin as well - the freezes were still gone. And, I'm using the default theme.

        It could be an issue with video rendering. I remember this kind of thing happening to me on 3.95 when trying to install the ITG Cel and Metal noteskins--they would look horrid, and the mip-maps didn't line up properly. Try going to your Stepmania.ini and change:

        Code:
        VideoRenderers=opengl,d3d
        Flip them around. It helped me; for some reason, it had me set to d3d, and d3d sucks for this.

        Also, check your arrow modifiers. Based on:

        mostly (but not all) on the spot where the other layered sounds are, where it forms a jump with one freeze (that's the problem - it's only does this to most, not all). This issue also affects the other freezes to a lesser extent.
        It could be a hold modifier that you accidentally turned on. If neither of those work, I'm not sure what your problem is.

          Sorry I haven't responded - I ended up forgetting I asked this question upon going to school.

          But no, I tried your trick, and there is absolutely no improvement. I may want to note that the arrows holding the freezes are also gone. If anybody wants a copy of the file to see for themselves, that'll work as well.
