Ughh I'm improving kinda slowly. I found a way around not being able to use my thumb, I have the middle key set as M. I have to reach around the spacebar but who cares, at least now I can hit chords.
The thing that gets me are doing holds and hitting other notes at the same time, even if it's simple like hitting a holding and a note at the end of the hold at a relatively fast pace, it just confuses me and I end up mashing. >.>
I'm playing level 14 to 19s now though.

The ONLY reason hold streaming is hard is because you have to let go at the end of the hold, or it gives you a CB. If it weren't for that, O2 wouldn't be nearly as hard.
I'm around 18~25 now. Probably won't break 25+ for a good while now.
Why would you put that in your signature? You've lost your signature rights for a month. (You'll get them back on March 10th, 2012.)
Yeah I agree, it would a hell of a lot easier if you didn't have to let go at the end. It also seems that the difficulty rating really varies in here. I played Tell Me A Story by SGX, which was a 14, and I'll tell you that it DEFINITELY did not feel like a 14, more like a 19 or 20. The whole beginning was like SPAMSPAMSPAM.
P.S. Passed a level 22, FC'ed an 18. Man I need screenshots. I played basically all day today and improved a bit.

you guys are fast..............................................
also yeah many of the songs are either underrated or overrated eg. jinglebell mega mix Hx is definitely is not a 16, should be 20+ or so, and gaussian blur Hx is not a 50 etc.
keep playing dudes i want competition
I absolutely do NOT recommend ANY Microsoft keyboard for keysmash - it's barely passable for 4k, but don't even consider it for solo or O2.
BTW, do you guys hit the spacebar with both hands, or just one? I hit it almost exclusively with my right hand, only using the left if the right hand is keeping up a rhythm while the left is doing chords or melodies or some other retarded ****

I use my left thumb since the day I started, never used both thumbs in a song before, with the exception of Aiming High Hx. If I forcefully use my right thumb it'll just confuse the **** out of me, so yeah, one thumb all the way.
I personally wouldn't know - some keyboards have good response times, others can hold 7k at once in certain setups, others have anti-ghosting to allow any setup, some combine all of the previous in one way or another.
From experience, I haven't found a keyboard that's cheap that can hold 7k. The one I got with this computer (stock from COMPAQ/HP) can hold 7k in certain combinations, but has massive delay.
I can't recommend anything to be honest; see if your friends have any keyboards that can hold 7k at once? That's the main priority for games over 4k; response time isn't as important (because really, I had a kb with 5ms response but could only hold three keys - not very good for o2/solo).
On a different note, Xiao gots some CA on easy songs :O
