Crashes at startup! Thanks for the help!

I just dl DWI and when I start it I get a black windowed screen and it just freezes there. I looked on their website and it says

The program crashes at startup / No songs found / Controls are screwed up

Try deleting 'dwi2.rec', 'dwi2.sng', 'dwi2.cfg', and 'dwi2.inp'. These files may be corrupted or out-of-date. There may be a problem with DWI - but it helps to try this step first

I did that but it still doesn't work. Any tips? Thanks.

Yah, I already have Stepmania, but I really want DWI also cause of some cool songs like Rurouni Kenshin's Heart of Sword and ERA and such.

Also, I'm not sure what SDL mode is? Thanks for replying.

StepMania lets you play DWI files, so those songs that you mentioned shouldn't be a problem at all.

If you still want to try to get DWI working, browse to the directory that you installed DWI into and double-click the file "DWI-sdl.bat". In SDL mode, rather than using your video card to accelerate drawing (which can be problematic if you have buggy drivers) your main system processor does all the work. If you have a newish system (I'd say 1999 and up) you shouldn't have a problem with it.
