    NNH-Noobie Needing Help

Hey-just got Stepmania about...say...3 days ago? Been hooked ever since! Been playing FFR online a lot recently, downloaded about 49 sim files in the last 2 days...

Anyway, I've decided to making some simfiles but need some help and have some general questions-think any of you can answer them?

If I made a simfile, how (or could) I get it onto FFR SimFileDB?

Any Hints for a noobie making a simfile for a song?

Any tips to a noob on how to play? (technique, more or less)

Are there any retailers that sell a DDR Mat for the PC, or a PS2 to PC adapter?

I'm going to keep things pretty short because i'm on a psp.

    1. If you wanted to upload your file to the DB, you would take the folder and zip it. Then just upload it.

    2. Try listening to the song on .5x (in the options). Then put a note where you think it should be. Then keep testing until you get it on beat.

    3. Play 4 finger spread. (left middle finger on the left arrow key, left index finger on the down arrow key, right index finger on the 8 key, right middle finger on the 6 key).

Here is part 2 because I hit the character limit.

      3. Try screenshrinking. Ssing is when you pull part of the screen over where you can see. For example, I dont even see my combo when I play, but you don't want to do that much. Just do little by little.

      4. Most dance mats have a usb on it. I have a Red Octane 2.0 that I got from best buy for 80$ that works pretty well.

annnd...that concludes my post that took 10 minutes to type on a psp, enjoy!

ps. You should pick up some simfile packs, stuff you find on the DB aren't that good (unless you know who makes good files.)

Yea, I picked up one from the main StepMania site, the guy had some awesome songs with good beats.

Of all the Sims I've downloaded off of here, none of them were "that" horrible, though, I do know what kinds of ones your talking about.
