I know how to get songs on stepmania, and play them. I need help knowing how to get songs you want to create steps for, on there. I tried to put a song in a seperate file and then and then go edit the steps for it but the song dont show up. do I need to get certain songs only? So whats the deal?

You need to make a DWI file.
Look in the guides at the top of the simfile forum.

I'm gonna repeat this once more...
GO TO C:/Program Files/Stepmania/Program.
OPEN THE FILE "smpackage". SELECT "Create Song" IN THE MENU THAT APPEARS.
FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS TO HAVE A NEW SONG FOLDER CALLED "My Creations", AND HAVE A NEW SIMFILE FOLDER MADE IN "My Creations".
OPEN STEPMANIA, GO TO EDIT SONGS, SONG EDIT, ET CETERA. SELECT "My Creations", AND SELECT THE SIMFILE THAT WAS JUST MADE FOR YOU.
NOW YOU CAN EDIT THE SIM TO THE EXACT PROPORTIONS THAT YOU WANT THEM TO BE.
