Who was around?

So who was around when the first release of SM was put out on the internet? How long ago was that does any body know, maybe even the year? Because I've been playing Stepmania for almost 4 years now and they're just now coming out with 4.0 sometime in the near future, and I've been playing since 3.0.

But someone told me the game was actually out on Playstation or something like that, should I consider them a dumbass or is it true?

Stepmania was never released on Playstation. They are certainly thinking of DDR.

By the way, 3.0 was like the newest version of SM when I started playing it about 1.5 years ago.
