Numbers don't add up

Okay this may be a bit stupid, so trout slap me if such is the case. Something I noticed is that the number of steps don't seem to match up with the number of marvs, pers, etc. An example of what I mean here. A FC of 484 is roughly 100 steps short of what is shown on the right. Any help on this one?

Jumps add one to your combo but two to your marvelous/perfect/great/etc count.

Exactly the opposite of what afro said.

Jumps, triples and quads all count as one arrow at the end screen. Say you play something with a 1020 combo FC, and it shows 1000 arrows, then that sim has 20 jumps in it.

So it's the opposite of what you said.
