How to change Stepmania's arrow speed mods (Easy version)

Use my program to instanly change your speed mods (even in game).

Things to know: You dont have to fill in every text box, if you just fill in one my program will just update that one mod for you and not whipe out the rest.

For multipliers type the x after the number. Ex. 3x not x3
for Cmods make sure you use a capital C

To change the speed mods in game hit f2 anywhere in stepmania but the 'players options' (where you see the speed mods).

Edit: Don't really browse forums anymore but I heard that the link was down. I lost the code so I just rewrote the program really fast and included the language.ini step people are wanting, and it now makes a backup of both ini files before it does anything. Haven't really got to test it too much so tell my how it works.

I doesnt work for me i hit apply changes and F2 and it doesnt do anything

1 You say you hit apply changes and f2 as if you didn't hit f2 in stepmania. Make sure you hit f2 in Stepmania but not in player options. It should say "realoaded metrics and textures" at the top left of the screen when you hit f2. If not you may have binded the "reload metrics and textures" key, in the key config, to something different than f2.

2 Did my program say "Path not found"? If so you gave it the wrong directory. (If it didn't give you an error it worked. Restart Sepmania if you can't figure it out and it will be there.)

It works awesome. I know there is a way to add in the multiplier without it giving you the error when you go into the options screen. I don't know how exactly, it does it by editing another document. It'd be very useful if you included that into your program.

I'm pretty sure you would have to make a bunch of custom metrics for each speed mod you use. Or you could just use the fullscreen mode.. mabye hit alt enter if you really want and alt enter back out..

All you have to do is add a line in english.ini that says x3.5=x3.5 or whatever in the speedmods section.

Moogy's right. If you can make this program edit the metrics, why can't you make it also add the needed things to the language ini?

I was being lazy and could make it show up as x3.5 instead of 3.5x by editing the metrics file slightly differently, which would eliminate the problem (I might fix this soon) if your theme supports the x3.5 metric. You would still need custom made metrics if you use more precise, less usual mods, like x3.25 and c665 that themes dont have metrics made for.

It would be great if I could just find an option so it will not give you the error message in windowed mode if it can't find the right metric for you'r speed mod. I'll look into it.

Just make it so whatever mod it adds to the metrics.ini will also be added in the language ini. Let's say the mod you add is C300. It should add:

Speed,XX=mod,C300;name,C300

to the metrics.ini and it should add:

C300=C300

to the language ini. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to do.
