The beatmania one is only 6 buttons; 5 and the scratcher. Really weird. The pop'n comes with choice of 5 or 9. I still cannot get a good enough setup to play harder songs on 9 buttons. It's so much harder than I thought.

Fun though, except for the fact that the Pop'n game mode has a messed up language deal.

I don't know Reach...the BM one is messed up.

To get it centered you need to turn on "Solo Singles" mode. It's in the options somewhere.

Try the 9-key Pop'n mode.

emccky, the packages are really messed up as I found out. You have to put one part in themes and another in noteskins. I think that fixes it...

However, the language settings on one of them is messed up horribly. It's really awful.

No, I don't think 4-key is hard at all. Think about it. I can AA songs on SM I couldn't even hope to clear on IIDX, or even 5-key. It's very easy, relatively speaking, in the Bemani sense. That's why everyone who cares is good at it.
