Making Stepmania play more like ffr?

Was wondering if there is anyway to make Stepmania play more like FFR. Used to play Stepmania a ton but haven't played since I found FFR. After playing it again everything just feels kind of, "off". Not sure if it's just me or other people have had a similar experience.

Put it on judge 1. You could also massively increase the good and boo timing windows so that combo breakers are impossible other than missing.

i guess you could say they're different games so they're meant to feel different

You can't, really; one is ms-timing and the other is frame-timing. You can change stuff cosmetically as Poison- and Izzy have suggested.

That being said, the main appeal of playing SM over FFR tends to be that SM runs more smoothly and is just overall more enjoyable to play on as a platform.

That's true, but I think the "offness" being referred to is that difference. At least that's certainly what it was in my experience when switching between the two platforms.

Also, yes, other people have had trouble adjusting and readjusting when switching between FFR and SM. It definitely takes a while to get to the point where switching between the two no longer feels so difficult. There are even some players who can switch more or less freely without much consequence.

IMHO, switching from FFR to SM is way easier than from SM to FFR. The only problem when switching from SM to FFR is the timing, but all you have to do is show amazing timing on FFR for it to be minimized.

Also, more song variety and there are MUCH more difficult files.

You can go play on the FFRMania engine to see what I mean.

totally the other way around here..
FFR is way easier than SM, when your timing is awesome in SM you ppbbly easily would AAA files of the same or even higher difficulties here at FFR.
After playing a lot of FFR (few weeks e.g), and then switching back to SM make me suck at SM big times.
