HELP!! Stepmania and DWI, one folder for songs

PLEASE HELP!! I only have so much space on my computer, and i have all my songs in my stepmania folder. I downloaded DWI, and i kinda like it. I like switching between Stepmania and DWI, so is there a way that i can have both programs link to the one folder with all the songs in it? Thanks!
P.S. Ive tried making a shortcut for the songs folder on DWI to the songs folder in stepmania, but it doesnt work!

Put half of your songs in SM and half of them in DWI. It evens itself out.

make a shortcut for the songs folder and put it in the DWI folder
