If there is a chance of a score recording system similar to FFR's (or Blue Planet for the 3 of you that would remember it), I would donate so much time to coding it and making it work

It seems that it does record the best scores for files. It just isn't displayed anywhere yet. Unfortunately there are some major issues with this because it doesn't do any kind of file check to make sure it is the same notes.

The only way I could think it could work is including certain packs in the system. The database would have to run checks based on how many total notes there are, or a difficulty rating and match it up with something in a certain pack that is in the database. If nothing is found, just not record the score

I did this with BP, so it can be done. I just didn't do it where it auto-records through the server

Just played a couple games online, everything was working perfectly. I had no connection problems.
I was getting XP after playing each file, and all my scores were recorded onto stepmaniaonline.net

it would be nice if there was some kind of scoring/ranking system.

I runned OpenSMO some time ago and some people use other scoring system (here is one example: http://stepmaniaonline.net/index.php?page=song&sid=27)so do this for keep the order in the best scores for every song:

- Open functions.php and go to line 154
- Replace with this: $res = sqlQuery("SELECT * FROM \"stats\" WHERE \"Song\"=".$song->id." ORDER BY \"Note_Flawless\" DESC LIMIT ".(($page - 1) * $num).",".intval($num));
- Save

they are encrypted, easly encrypted but still, because the website loads directly from the db file, its in the same place as the website, so if they used the normal settings, I could easly get the entire database with stepmaniaonline.net/database.db, I dont have the website option on my smo.jousway.co.uk because I dont want to give people acses to that file, I asked Ansjh if he would change it to mysql or add a mysql function in the future, he said he would so I'm still waiting for that
