solo top 5 files in world history:
5. Memory of Beach/Jelly/Plastic Girl (Dethev) - yep it's a three way tie because dethev was a baller
4. Sketch Switch Oni (Malice) - fun as ****
3. State of the Art (Fysx) - simple and awesome
2. SIN (Malice) - this is a ****ing epic
1. INFINITY (Malice) - no one will ever get to play this again :<

Off the top of my head:
Toph's Girlboy Song (incredible sim, this edges ahead of everything else imo)
Kil's Badlands (the other einhander sims should be included too, the patterns in these files really emphasize syncopation, I've never seen it done better but Glove's Dark Eternal Night utilizes jacks similarly and makes it a contender as well)
Reach's Gigadelic (This is simply one of my personal favourites..will remain one of the hallmark 'tough' sims)
aperson's pscicite (Experimental use of freezes above anything, made for an incredible challenge and overall memorable file)
Hayden's Ageha (I would vote this as more of a legendary file than Quasar but that's just me)

nice list but i'd say thermosphere (i think it was his last einhander file?) was better than badlands

ODIPack2 is always underrepresented jeebus

I was about to reply but I pretty much agree with Dynam0's list, although I've never played the Girlboy song. Thermosphere was cool, and I *loved* Badlands because it just felt extremely rhythmic and sounded neat on my keyboard. :P Tranzport is a great file as well.

I will always have a soft spot, though, for Bemaniruler's files -- mainly because those are what I used to practice way back in the early 2000's.

dynam0 has a nice list; probably the best of the oldies. i'd agree badlands is actually superior to thermosphere, despite it's deceptively simple structuring and the note about dark eternal night is pretty astute too.

moches makes me smile ;D and apparently super soaker is getting some love which is cool and unexpected

my favorites were always changing around but once i reinstall sm on my computer i'll try to come up with a nice new list myself
