    Same foot rapidly pressing help?

Does anyone know of any exercises that will improve muscles to help to learn to rapidly press the same arrow on the same foot for extended periods?

I have serious problems with steps that involve the same foot pressing 3 or more notes on the same arrow in one quick set of steps.

My muscles simply tense up. I've always had problems doing them, and can't seem to be able to do them, however much DDR I play.

I've started to think, its simply a limit of myself, that I could never do.

I'm fine when it comes to pressing it twice, but 3 times and more are impossible for me. My muscles just simply lock up.

I also have problems pressing a bass drum pedal in the same fashion. Its weird.

An example would be Xepher, where you have to hold a note down with one foot, and with the other, rapidly hit with the same, for quite a few hits.
Another slower example would be Delirium, but only on the 8 step difficulty. Theres a part where you have to hit the same arrow 3 times, and its not that fast either, but still have issues with it (I can use 2 feet with this though), Oh and another good example: Max 300 Super Max Me Mix

With some songs, I can get away with it, as I can simply use both feet on the same arrow. An example is with Max 300 on Expert at the end.

    So any tips?
    Thanks

Probably just practice the specific motion, as well as maybe left right trills.

Just doing trills back and forth should help you. Doing patterns like LRLRLRLRLRLRLRLRLRLRLR at high speeds will pay off a lot if you can get the hang of it.

Take a look at this chart and see how fast your feet can become with a bit of practice.

I'd put up a video of me playing this song, but I don't have one--yet.

        Wow, thats fast...

I don't have so much of a problem if one foot has to hit, then another though.
It's when its just the one foot.

For example, if you had to hit left/right over and over, with both feet, I wouldn't have a problem doing that at for instance 2x the speed of normal (so you'd theoretically be hitting the same arrow on the same foot at the same speed)
Slow it down to 1x though, where the right foot has to hit that same arrow over and over, without the left (or right if its the other way) also hitting an arrow inbetween, the problem occurs.

I don't know how to explain that better.

Then in that case, try emulating runningmen/trilling (such as in the case of Xepher/Delirium). "Ghost stepping" the notes on the other foot might help this problem.

It's more tiring, but it will probably solve some of your problems with it; it's actually a very common tactic to use in higher level play with faster jacks (1/16ths, let's say) due to the fact you keep your momentum by trilling. I can actually do 16th jacks on pad, but only by trilling; so the same logic might apply to you at a slower pace.

You might get around this problem as you get progressively better.

Why would you put that in your signature? You've lost your signature rights for a month. (You'll get them back on March 10th, 2012.)

Trills and jacks, in essence, are the exact same motion. The only difference is that in jacks, one foot is doing all of the work, while trills use both feet.

A trill is really a two-footed jack. If you can get better at trilling, you'll also get better at jacks too.

They're not quite the same motion, though; as xiao pointed out, trilling keeps your momentum going, jacking not so much.

If there is a song that has constant jacks for pad, then it's not for pad.

Play Windeus "We met that Night", it will change your perspective on even double jacks.

I dont recommend this unless u enjoy playing terribad charts.

                  Just play Dukamok's Club

                  Blake plays that a lot.

                  And gets like 98%
