Beatmania US controller question...

Hey guys... um... I have a question about the BMUS controller. Beside the cord that plugs into the PS2 is a little black square. I picked at it for awhile and found out that it comes out to reveal a little headphone jack like thing only, none of my headphones fit in it... I don't have the instructions for the controller and was wondering if anyone who has the BMUS contoller would know what in the hell it is... here's a pic but you can't see the thing I'm talking about however, it's in the right area...



NOTE: this is not MY controller and game... just a pic I found that was the best for what I was going to use it for. MY controller and game are the exact same though.

I think you use real DJ headphones or the headphones that come with it. You did get headphones with it... right?

No... that's why I was wondering what it was for... DAMN! I wish I had those! That wouldn've been freaking awesome! Mine was just the controller that I bought at a used game store and then bought the game somewhere else... WWWWAAAAHHH!

Are you absolutely sure that they came with headphones? No one else seems to have them... no one listed that the bundle comes with headphones, no youtube vids, not even any images on google... are you sure Unknown?

It definitely does not come with headphones. If you don't ****ing know, don't state with such definiteness.

It's probably just an extension port that they added in for a potential add-on that never made it. Doesn't one of the Beatmania games have a footpedal? Could be for that I guess. It's not uncommon for hardware to have extension ports for potential future products, only to never be put to actual use.

This is exactly the case. That port was designed to be a extension for the Beatmania III foot pedal. However, on top of the foot pedal never happening, the Beatmania III series never got a home version in the first place. Oddly enough, the foot pedal for Drummania plugs in and works just fine, although it just acts as the scratch.

And in case you're wondering, the port in question is also on the Japanese controller as well.
