It seems like the song lists are slowly becoming invaded with this pop **** that nobody gives a flying **** about yet they add it just so they can say on the back cover:

and it really destroys the game quality. The most recent DDR game of quality was Ultramix 3 for the Xbox, imo.

Ya thats another thing about the new games there putting stupid music on there which no one even likes.
They need to stick to all the good songs!!

I played Universe 1 and I didn't like the songlist at all. Too many terrible American licenses in it.

I never played Universe 2 because of the even worst songlist. Only good song IMO was Take Me Out, but once I saw the stepchart, I was like, "OMG kill me now, that is definitely not a nine-footer in Konami terms". There was even a lack of Oni charts. God, I hate Konami and their American home versions. They should sell the Japanese home versions.

SuperNOVA + SuperNOVA2 = meh

Universe + Universe 2 = gold compared to other DDRs

I was pretty content with Universe 2, but Konami just copies the same game play to 3 like they did from 1 to 2, there's going to be a problem. Ferry Corsten, Jason Nevins, Herbie Han****, Kaskade - if you actually like electronic music, Universe 2 is pretty kind to you. Being a borderline old fart, I really dig the funk and disco tracks too (Apache doesn't really belong in DDR though). Admitedly, some of the independent tracks are really generic (no Jondi & Spesh WTF?) but you have Sanxion7 and Beatdrop in there along with Melody & Mezzo and a handful of other good tracks. There's nothing wrong with the song qualities in Universe 2, you just like a song or you don't.

But I won't argue the step chart quality in Universe 2 went way downhill.

Most, if not all, of the DDR home versions are complete crap. The arcade DDR is excellent, because it doesn't have all of the pop music that clutters up the home versions, not to mention far more songs.

Yeah, my bro bought universe because his roommate has a 360. He found out you need a totally new pad to connect our current pads to the 360, you can't just buy a different adaptor, so he just gave it to me. It pretty much sucked, with only a few redeeming songs, except it only took like 4 hours to get all the achievements from it

Yeah that was a pretty good one, Ultramix 2 and 1 sucked and 4 was only good because it had Paranoia survivor max so your statement is very true.

max2, the asian version, of course was much better than the american max2.
its why i bought a asian ps2 forever ago.

but yeah, i suppose american max1 and max2 were allright, but still nothing compared to the asian versions.

It's cuz the japanese version has Challenge Mode more better songs and also you don't really have to buy japanese ps2, I recommended either buy swap disc or mod chip so you can play any japanese games or copy XD . I have DDR Universe and it's not really worth buying it if your already good on ITG's but for beginner i guess it's fun for them lol.

Well I heard DDR universe was somewhat ok. i personally have supernova and supernova2. supernova I think is a little better (I don't really know why) but supernova2 is pretty good too, since it actually has some decent music.

what do I know, I love all the ddr's, especially the ones coming out.
plus the ddr unvierse cover is gor-jess.
