              wait a second

Do they do open hihat hits on a different pad than closed hihat hits as a standard thing?

Because that is ****ing stupid. If you don't want to include a foot pedal for hihat, you shouldn't try to be ****ing relevant with open/close hats.

But really, once I get my 3rd cymbal, I don't want to be going to town on my "hihat", then have to alternate to my "ride" because the drummer in the song played a single note with the hat open then immediately closed it again.

                yup

hi-hat pedal only is functional for reeldrum use, not RB.

                    huh

I thought the hardware for RB2 on 360 wasn't coming out until everything dropped on the other systems. First the special bass, then the premium drums... but I just picked up one of the standard guitars at Best Buy. Should be nice to be able to play guitar without being forced to activate starpower by using the "back" button.

hi-hat pedal only is functional for reeldrum use, not RB.
My fury in this instance stems moreso from the fact that closed hihat is the same hihat as open hihat, not an entirely different cymbal. I've come to terms with the lack of hihat pedal in the game, but I'm mad that they would want to simulate relevance. Like, imagine if there were rimshots (note: rimshot, not sting) in a song interspersed in a snare run, and they made you play the rimshots on yellow instead of just making the whole thing red and recognizing the limitations of the medium.

But then again, multiple sensors on the rims as well as the heads would make for more fun I think, even if it's not applicable in most songs (or even any current ones). Although... before that, I'd like to see them make backup vocals possible. I dunno... a long time ago I posted on their forums saying there should be high-end guitars and drum kits available, so maybe if I post there and tell them to include hihat pedal, rim sensors, and backup vocals, maybe they'll do it in the next one

                      uh

                      rimshots are usually blue, actually

Are you ****ting me? That makes no ****ing sense. Blue pad is right side top tom and ride cymbal. It also is reasonable for anything which would make sense to exist in the area of the third quarter of the set. But a snare rimshot?

Incidentally, I don't recall ever noticing a rimshot before. Can you identify a specific song, preferably one which is not DLC.

I think they usually chart quiet rimshots as just red, but louder ones as red+blue (I guess to differentiate from hihat+snare hits).

                                so uh

I opened up my new guitar

And the ****ing finish is messed up. What should I do? I almost want to just go up to Best Buy, because I'm pretty sure I could say "look at this ****, I don't want to have to wait ****ing weeks to get this **** taken care of by harmonix, get me new guitar right now", but I distinctly recall turning down the offer for a replacement plan from Best Buy. And it seems to just be a lamination problem-- I haven't tried playing with it, but I am sure the error here is purely cosmetic.

For the curious, there are what appear to be "bubbles" in the sunburst gradient near a few points where the detail meets the edge of the strum bar and other features.
