Just because it's Rock doesn't mean you can't be soft. Palm muting, double-hits (Don't know the technical term; it is where you hit a drum head twice using the bounce- It's very quick), and heel-toe techniques are softer techniques that are used in rock songs.

I have Rock Band. It is beyond fun. The drums, though they take awhile to get used to, are pretty fun and make you feel good about yourself. The bass and lead guitar are the same to GH. The singing...its a give and take. you get all four going at once, though, its amazing....in some crazy nerdy way. Been playing it since 12:01 AM CT

Hey I agree the drums is hard to get use to at first but one u get good at it. Its hell of a lot of fun!!!!! And no matter what the rockband is way better than Guitar Hero anyday!!

Yeah yeah I know, no need to get all deep into it :P
But even those "soft" techniques are easier with a medal pad, since it' sensitivity and the feel is better on it too.

P.S. I haven't noticed that much difference with a sock mod yet though...

If your set isn't a QM then the sock mod won't do anything.

Ah, QM and EL. Never knew that, thanks. Why exactly are there differences? It's just like the pedal has 2 different default ones too.

QM is terrible out of the box but works great with a sock mod.
EL is OK out of the box and deteriorates quickly.

There's a serial number on the bottom of your drum kit, if you need to check it. If you still have your drum box it's also on there.

So i bought some new songs today, Afterlife is harder than i thought, everyone was saying "OMG the solos like uber hard" and i was think yea whatever I'll be able to get a good percent on it. WRONG failed it the first time, then got around 58% <.< i was like superrrr close to 5 starring it but yea pretty hard song,I bought a bunch of drum songs though i wont be getting my pedal in the mail for like another 12 hours :P, i just cant wait to play Kool Thing,Limelight, Afterlife and stuff on drums. I just cant wait to play drums period.
