Played online for a bit. Fun as always with random other players. Once with drums (expert) and the rest with lead guitar (expert). Only once this guy really crapped out and thought he could sing GGaHT expert vocals on his first try, so my band mates and I saved him a couple of times.

Other than that it was fun.

        Re: RockBand. More Awesome.

Hrm. I got Rock Band sometime last monday, and I'm going from Medium - Hard on the drums, basically leaning to Hard. Never played drums before though. But my mom did play the drums in highschool.

But I can't get past probably about the 12th song going down Solo. But I haven't played in awhile.

Any tips on keeping the same beat for like, a long time?
        I think that's my problem.
And double foot pedals. Gets annoying sometimes.

Get a better attention span? I know that's my issue.

haha same here if it goes too long of the same beat i eventually mess up, especially when the bass is on the offbeat haha.

I have to fake my way through all of Vaseline lol, I can't do the rhythm and it's pretty much the same the entire song.

Interstate Love Song has a really similar drum chart - but I like it.

I think it screws me up when (say) it's one then double 8ths continuously and then there's the peddle mashed unevenly during a few of them.
But attention span could be it.
Or maybe I could practice for once instead of just giving up if I screw up on a song.

More confirmation of a Wii port coming sometime.

This one sure hasn't generated much, if any, fanfare, but it looks like those that take their Rock Band wailing (a little too) seriously can now get their hands on a new and improved (and official) microphone. According to the appropriately-named Rocker74 of the ScoreHero forums, you'll have to drop a hefty $50 to your hands on it, but for that you'll apparently get a microphone that is heavier and "definitely" higher quality than the standard issue mic. There still doesn't seem to be any official word on the microphone, however, so availability might be hit and miss for a while yet.[Thanks, John P]Update: As some of you have pointed out, it appears that the microphone's packaging says its for PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360, which would certainly be an interesting development, given that we still haven't heard anything official about Rock Band for the Wii. More on that as we get it. [Thanks, garfep]

Gah my blue drum finally died. Actually, if I hit it too hard, it registers as me hitting yellow, blue and green.

Luckily, stand alone drums come out soon. Reinforced stand alone drums.

                          Re: RockBand. More Awesome.

The beats that really get to me are like the one in Move Along. The kind that require really fast one handed hits, and are really sporadic in rhythm. I can't handle them with the bass, let alone with it. I know what I have to play, I just can't get my hands to keep up.

It's funny - even though I'm actually a drummer, my stamina really blows in Rock Band. Possibly because I play a lot of metal beats which require huge bass dexterity but only little rushes of speed for hands as far as fills go.

I experimented with the sock/rubber band drum-fixing technique and it seems to work well, although my sock and rubber band were poorly-equipped for the job (way too fluffy) and my drumsticks kept getting stuck in the fabric. So I'll buy some thinner socks and better rubber bands and it will hopefully work great.

That sounds like softening the drum-hits... not a fix. I'm curious though. Explain yourself!
