It's a matter of readng skills. You could practice index on SM to help gain those reading skills. Pretty much is just one of those things you learn with practice.

well, i played stepmania for about 8 months before i got into ddr, i started out on index, but then i switched to spread cause a lot of songs i liked were like almost impossible for me to do with index, but i guess ill try using index on crossovers.

Do pad files if you do.

fyi its easier to to index crossovers on numpad then arrow pad because ur fingers have more room to "crossover" so if ur indexing arrow pad which i did for a while and want to break ur habit of double tapping i suggest u use it and if u already do good for u!

I've got a similar problem with that, the only difference being that I do them, but miss the actual arrow on the pad

              I index and I suck at crossover's.
Doublestepping is more convenient for me.

Pop out every key on the num pad but the arrows. (Not recommended if you share the keyboard with your family.)

thats an idea, but about the crossovers, i have a cobalt flux and everytime i do the 42624 crossover, my freakin toe hits the screw part of the panel and it doesnt register. these freakin crossovers are nothing easy and is holding back tremedously

you need mad skillz! like skillz that can kill(z). you really need to practice and get better and better. its one of the only ways...thats how anyone gets good at anything or any habits get broken is practice...well there are other things but what you need to do is practice!

You haven't practiced it enough trust some of the better indexers can do it fluently. YOu know how in DDR ur supposed to keep your body weight in the center? A similar method is used for this technique, keep your hands overed over the pad and you should do better.

yes...actually, practice not biting your nails, go one whole day with out biting you nails and see how long you can go after that. i also said that there are other ways now didnt i?
