ITG: VerTex^2 help

Brace yourselves, I ramble, and I need advice. I've gone further than most, playing no bar, and the only songs on an ITG2 machine I can't clear are VerTex^2 and Summer ~Speedy Mix on Expert. However, VerTex^2 seems like much more of a challenge than summer, but it seems possible. I played it recently, and got to the very end, but I couldn't follow it. Here's why: I can follow all of VerTex^2 on 1x, but I can't seem to avoid the mines in the super stream, or do even somewhat well at the part right after the freeze/hand slowdown. I tried it on 1.5x, and I made it further, I made it to the final speedup. I ended up guessing all the arrows, didn't work out too well. Should I a) Memorize the end of VerTex^2, and play it on 1.5x, or b) Keep trying to get through the mine-filled stream until I get to the end, which I will be able to follow, or if anyone has any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Use the bar.

Bah. Using the bar is for ninnies.

1. Get Stepmania.
2. Download VerTex^2.
3. Turn off failing.
4. Play on 1x speed a ton until you get used to the end of the stepchart. (You don't have to have it memorized. Having a good idea of what's going on is enough, at least for me.)
5. Make sure you can do it on 1.5x.
6. Go to the arcade.
7. Pwn.

Maybe try playing it without mines a few times on 1x, thats how I did it.

and using the bar on that song especially and summer is no shame.

And, Twilight Overlord... It's been done. A lot. The only song yet to be passed without the bar is VerTex^2 Doubles Expert.

thanks you everyone, I'm going to try most of these suggestions probably. Hopefully I can do it soon. Tibs, don't worry, I don't think the bar is cheating, I just choose not to use it. No need to defecate on me.

I use the bar on anything that is a 10 because my speed and endurance is horrible.

I usually play at home, so I've never used a bar in the first place.

Once I figure out Double and build up to 13 footers, the barless VerTex^2 challenge will FALL HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really suck at DDR though.
The hardest song I have ever passed is Max 300.

I actually heard that Vertex^2 doubles has yet to be passed either way with or without the bar.

as far as using the bar I tend to 1 hand the bar on like crossovers in any song thats like rhythm and police or exotic ethnic or somethin like that and anything 10 and up I bar rape cuz if not I dont do nearly as well.

I hate it when people are all omg you can't bar rape ok that is the dumbest **** because the reason for the bar is to help you.

Anyways, Summer is definitely easier than Vertex^2, it's the ending that kills everyone on Vertex^2 that makes it seem harder.
