    The Max. (period) thread

First off, for the full scoop on this, if you haven't already seen it, read this thread:

The dwi (including MP3, steps, banner, and background) are all spread out thoughout that thread... Do a little reading and find them yourself :P

Anyways, this is the first offical DDR song that's supposed to be played on a pad but still gives me trouble with my fingers... Seems like something the guys who make those crazy hellbeat-chronotrigger-classical music FFR stepcharts would come up with...

What are your thoughts on this song? I've looked at several of the bigger DDR message boards and seen a LOT of negative reactions, though no real explanation as to why they hate it... wanna share your feelings?

The steps are retarded, they don't even go to the song. I had to turn the music off to AA it. So, no, I don't like it.

Actually, the steps go perfectly with the song. Maybe you're just using the wrong MP3.

The steps are in-sync with the beat of the song, although some of them are sort of detached from the song (I think the second jump run is like that)...

I hear a lot of people whining about the 600bpm part, but when it comes down to it, 600 bpm isn't that fast... When you're already doing LOM extra stage as 500bpm, it really isn't much faster... Just start playing your songs with higher speed mods than you usually would and you'll have it down in no time.

Besides, since when did all the Maxes have it so every step was synced with a sound? If I remember right, the second eighth note run in MAX 300 is to NOTHING - There's not even a little sound, the verse (riff? Don't know what that's called in turntables terminology) just keeps on playing uninterrupted... It's meant to be both a challenge and something of a DDR tribute (Thus the Paranoia part to it), and I think it does that pretty well.

What the hell do you mean, use higher speed mods than usual? The lowest speed mod you could use that would make a song faster is 1.5x...600 by 1.5x is 900.

You either have to memorize or just learn to play without mods.

I mean all his other songs... If anyone having trouble with the 600bpm part they should just start playing other songs with higher mods than they usually would. For example, if you usually play Paranoia Rebirth with a 1.5x mod, then try a 2x mod.

And reading arrows on shuffle at 1000bpm speeds is entirely possible... Look at Foy, he's AA'ed HVAM on 3x shuffle and Paranoia Rebirth on 5x shuffle... I personally am just getting used to 900bpm by playing max. on 1.5x a lot, but it's still fuzzy to me =\

The steps go fine with the song except for in certain parts. It is easily doable on feet tho. I can get to the 600bpm part pretty easy(without the bar) and I almost pass it usually, and I haven't been playing ddr for that long.

P.S. I think bar raping is gay ^-_-^

The steps feel weird. I don't like them. Unless you slow down the music they don't make sense in certain parts.

And the fast part is the easiest part of the song. On C400 its not bad....on like 1x it was pretty tedious to play.

Thats keyboard of course. That would be pretty crazy at the arcade.

I don't like the song. I mean...at ALL. The upwards tweaked out synth thing scale? NONONO. The Paranoia part was retarded, too. And doubling BPM was kinda like WHOA THIS IS EXTREME DDR and like WHOA THIS IS REALLY LAME at the samne time.

I didnt like the steps either.

Its hard to appreciate the steps whe you dont like the song.

                    Signature subject to change.

For those who don't understand the Paranoia part:

It's sort of a symbol for the song's difficulty. Paranoia 180 was the fastest and hardest song in 1st mix, and at the time clearing the song was a sign of status among players and getting a good grade was an incredible feat. It's sorta saying "This is your new Paranoia", as this is supposed to be the new hardest song, and the new bane of existence for DDR players...
