I'm hoping to get IIDX for christmas with a Jap PS2 but I dunno which style to get. I'm thinking of 8 because it's got Quasar and Murmur twins and I don't really know much about the other ones.

Get 10th style, then 8th. 8th has a good list, but songs you don't want to play over and over. 7th is also a fun one.Comment

I found 7th and 8th to be decent for beginners.
Quasar is only on 9th style (so far)

9th style is good choice due to its lack of DDR counterparts, and the nice interface. Mod your Ps2 if it is a slim one. It takes about 5 minutes if you know what you are doing(it's pretty well explained on ps2fliptop.net) Use the other money to get another controller or another style. or a DVD burner and get all of themComment
