    DDR for training

Does anyone here use DDR for training for any sport or activity you are in?

I and my friends use it for training for breakdancing, and it sure inproves our foot work in breaking!

How bout any of you DDR fans?

    RE: DDR for training

During football I used it to keep my stamina up, but now that I don't play football any more, I don't really use it as training.

Not really, but it does help build up my stamina for other sports.

Believe it or not, I find that it's helped me in playing music. It's much easier for me to find the beats, figure out weird rhythms, and other things like that. I think it would also PROBABLY help percussion players, considering that you're basically reading "music" for your feet, when you think about it.

...What the hell does that have to do with this topic?

Besides, you're ASKING to be flamed by posting something like that, ESPECIALLY in a forum called "Dance Dance Revolution."

            Anyway, getting back on topic...

DJ Oracle, I've found to draw a lot of my ideas from DDR. Sometimes I even start trying to play DDR music on different instruments. MaxX Unlimited sounds cool on a trombone. XD

I think DDR itself is really inspiring music-wise, on multiple levels.

Oracle, I would go for beatmania if you are trying to work on your scratching.
My rhythm has improved a bit I guess, and my plyomatics are definitely a lot better.

I play it for fun as most do, but it is an added bonus when it boosts my stamina for soccer. The two actually help each other out... I can do longer and harder songs from stamina training for soccer, and in turn, I gain stamina for soccer and conditioning. It a vicious cycle... but in a good way.
