ok i got a metal pad ... so i got the usb port to hook it up to the comp ... so i got it all hooked up and it does not work.... i dont no what im doing wrong anyone else no???

kk .... i got a cord that hooks into my usb port so i pluged that in ... then i connect the ddr pad to the comp hookup and the pad lights up... i start stepmania and the arrows do not work when i press them... still dont no what im doing wrong

You have to config them. Load SM, go to options, config key/joy settings (I think that's what it's called), and then it will show the buttons you have configured right now. Go to each arrow on the chart thing, hit enter on each arrow listing, and hit the corresponding arrow. If you can, see if you can config the upleft and upright buttons as start and back.
