Which do y'all prefer, personally, i think the PIU layout is better.

It'd be interesting to see a really good player at PIU, mainly because I've only seen it a few times and none of the times were the players really uber-great... It'd be interesting to play a doubles game, simply to see how the turning works on that pad.
I'll also credit it that PIU has a pretty cool song selection, although I don't think I like it more than DDR's.
If I have a choice, I'll play DDR, but I ever see a lone PIU machine sitting in a corner and I have nothing else to do... I might drop a few bucks in.Comment

I played PIU for a few months because I was tired of the same DDR songs sometime back. I don't really COMPARE the two since the difference in music and the number of panels. However, in terms of which one makes you dance more, it's PIU. You can't compare the music since one is more Pop-ish and the other is more Rock/Rap-ish. I like both forms and think they're great on their own.
And I've done doubles on Pump. The turning isn't that bad. Just like in DDR, you have to know how and when to turn. It was rather fun.Comment

Re: DDR or PIU?
I don't see many of the more experienced people coming into this thread. I can't (and maybe not you) comment about how DDR is easier than PIU or PIU is more dance-like and has the fun classical remixes, UNTIL I've played both, and for a while.
Plain and simple, PIU over DDR. The collection, although, isn't very user-friendly. Many songs are classical remixes and K-Pop, something unfamiliar to the player. And unless you've played this first before DDR, it's like learning a second language. I'm not saying it's extremely hard, you just have to learn from scratch, like DDR. You need to start simple when playing; then, when you read the steps better without messing up, it's a matter of how fast you can move your feet when you learned DDR.
I see the point to loathe PIU. Everyone has to learn from somewhere, and it may mean going Novice for a week. Bear with it. You'll see how fun it gets when you play the challenging stuff. If you don't like it, then don't listen to me. But please don't flame how terrible either game can be to play. Live with it.

Re: DDR or PIU?
PIU has a better pad IMO, but it's not beginner friendly at all (does get easier w/ time) but PIU dosnt have alot of songs I like ( I know I'm picky) so I play DDR more, But Pump IS pretty sweet now and then.Last edited by MixMasterLar; 08-30-2006, 01:38 PM.Comment
